Remember when an astronaut on the Space Station almost drowned to death?

Supposedly, the water that circulates throughout his suit, which used to insulate his suit was leaking out of the suit and into his helmet, causing him to drown.

I ALWAYS thought ocean water leaked into his helmet and was drowning him.

Supposedly, the astronauts practice in the ocean for their space trips. Honestly, I don't think any of them ever go into space.

MoH, I know you get WAY more comments than you can possibly read, but just in case you see this, here’s something that might help make a little sense of the situation…
The dispatcher seems to be telling them to get the Captain to a coastal city in Spain with facilities to treat decompression sickness. Not too far from Spain is the island nation of Malta, which has the world’s thee largest water tanks, which (under the banner of the Malta/Mediterranean Film Corporation) they lease out to filmmakers from around the world who want to film underwater scenes…or simulated zero-gravity scenes.
Since the nearest other countries to Malta are Sicily, Tunisia, and Libya, it stands to reason that if you were in Malta trying to film a simulated spacewalk and got the bends, coastal Spain would be the nearest hospital you could be treated at.

TBH being stranded under the ocean sounds terrifying to me too. It’s weird to me that an active mission going on, and they didn’t house at least one flight surgeon at the facility in case of emergency and rotate them out, especially since things had already gone awry? That seems strange for an agency that should plan for as many contingencies as possible. I don’t know, TMFISSINR.
