Boeing Starliner Makes Strange Sound in Space, NASA Solves Mystery | Firstpost America
Astronaut Barry Wilmore, who has been stranded in space since June, reported "strange noises" coming from the Boeing Starliner capsule. Docked to the International Space Station (ISS), the spacecraft blasted off with Wilmore and his colleague Sunita Williams on June 5 for an eight-day mission. However, technical malfunctions left the astronauts stuck in orbit for months. NASA has said that the sound Wilmore has reported was actually the feedback from the audio configuration between the space station and Starliner. The noise is normal. The Boeing Starliner was last week deemed to be too risky to carry the astronauts back to Earth. The uncrewed spacecraft will be undocked on September 6. Meanwhile, Wilmore and Williams would be brought back home in a SpaceX Dragon capsule in February next year.
