I have a question, why should we do the normalize twice (first and last)? Because some channel suggest to do the normalize last.

Thank you! However, can you please give me a suggestion. I am recording sound from computer. The set-up is correct, but the Threshold is at 0db, which is too loud. Moving sliders in Audacity's interface does not help at all. And, I can not lower the playback volume of sound source that I need to record - it has no controls. How do I lower Audacity's Recording Threshold for recording sound of my computer?
