To clarify I've seen dosages around 400 mg and up, but I would recommend starting with a lower dosage around 100mg to start and of course talk with your provider before starting!!

Working my way off of Celexa down to 10 from 40 so far. 5 htp is really helping me so much. Slow and steady transition i take 50 mg in the morning and 200mg at night. I take Rhodiola 250 in the morning too along with my normal vitamin d 5000, and my omega 3 and a women's wellness for my hormone levels.

Is it safe to take St John's wort in the morning and 5 htp in the night. Will it cause too much serotonin. ??

I've just started looking into this and am learning how important the gut is. One thing that I came across that is different from what you state regarding the similarity between how this and SSRIs work. From what I've found so far, it seems that SSRIs are designed to slow the consumption of available serotonin by blocking serotonin receptors in the brain and essentially tricking it into thinking it's getting what it needs by rationing what your body produces on its own. Since this isn't actually what the body requires, this helps to explain why a lot of anxiety and depression medications just make you feel "blah" and zombie-like. Whereas a 5HTP supplement actually facilitates the gut creating more serotonin to increase the amount to what your body requires, which would also help to explain why dosage becomes important. I plan to ask my doctor about what I'm learning about the gut and see if we can start looking at that since I was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression when I retired from the military and the VA just throws meds at you and calls it a day. I'd much prefer to increase my levels instead of lying to my body and continuing to deprive it of what it needs.

Between a gallon of water a day and 5HTP for 6 days I have felt amazing always eat with the 5htp I noticed ❤ I used to take 5htp it always helps but I noticed with my water intake it doesn't make me sick to my tummy like when I wasn't hydrated

Great video 😊 I took this this evening for the first time. I have ADHD and a little aspergers (diagnosed but not treated for both) along with bad depression. I do have slight heart issues so was cautious about taking it after hearing about the risks with heart and blood conditions, but my need for relief vs risk I felt it was worth a go, even just one. After taking it within about 20 - 30 minutes, i notice a difference, assume it's placebo... then an hour in, and I feel better depression-wise, and music sounds better. It's been quite a while since I've bopped to music, social anxiety has decreased significantly also but for me there was no benefit for the ADHD (unlike full spectrum health food store CB oil which was great but lowered my blood pressure too much). I may take this short term or alternate a week on then off to avoid any negative health issues as I've noticed this seems to make my muscles ache.

Hi I got mine today I tried one 400 after breakfast I got sweaty nauseous and I wanted to puke but thought I could handle it.. but because I sweat I took a shower and still wanted to puke so I tried some coffee came out but not much no food come out it was just the feeling I guess after 15 minutes it went away but after 6 hours still felt I couldn't handle food I'm going to try dinner now bye...btw I'm a big guy I just wanna warn people this thing made me sick to the point of sweating and puking so maybe start with a lower dose

Can you just replace sertraline with this instead to reduce the ssri syndrome symptoms and then completely stop taking after a weening period.
