Car Dealer Scam #3 - Reconditioning Fee

Bailed on a 7 year old Accord due to seeing "reconditioning fee" in the fine print. I'm already paying $15, 000 for a 7 year old car with 90, 000 miles on it and you can't wash it and make sure my brakes work without wanting more money? Yeah, pass.

A reconditioning fee is what we as a dealer subtracts from the wholesale price as to recondition said vehicle for retail and make said percentage we all call profit.

There’s a scam here in the US where dealerships try to sell cars as manufacturers CPO when in fact it’s a dealership CPO vehicle. I.e Subaru. Subaru has a real certified pre owned program. Scam # 436

That's a "cost of doing business". Are they going to charge you a Janitorial Fee so you have a clean safe entry into the store?

That’s illegal report them to the Federal Trade Commission. They already made a ruining about that.

I got a f-pace, they charged me 250.00 to clean it…. It passed all checks. All it needed was a new set of wipers.

It happened to me when I bought my first car they charged me so many stupid things that I didn’t even know I could just ask to take it out I don’t need, they saw that im inexperienced customer so they screwed me up nicely

They also detail the vehicle and get it as new as possible for you. They apply protectant and steam clean the interior for no mor germs people do this that they’re Job and they gotta get paid so I say worth it if you have a clean car if you don’t you’re lazy in my eyes clean it or get it cleaned

They also check the air in the tires and the oil. Fill up the washer fluid. Spray with new car smell. Test drive for Toby

It’s not a scam. The dealership needs to charge those fees to turn a profit. Quit crying over a few thousand
