Can't believe the negative comments here. I just went to England to pick up a GS1 and it is exactly what I ordered. A handmade English electric guitar. I went to the factory, no CNC machines just people. Anyone who thinks 600-700 pounds is expensive for that is deluded. You could buy a Mexican Fender for the same price, a fine guitar, also exactly the same as every other Mexican Fender of the same model. They wind their own pickups and make all the wooden parts on site. These guys are craftsmen and produce a great guitar. They do the fancier woods if that is what you want. In this age of mass production I am proud to say that I own one guitar, made by craftsmen in England that is a unique instrument. Made to my specifications, costing less than $750 and it's one great guitar. Buy your Chinese/Korean/Indonesian guitar and enjoy it. I own many guitars, made in many places but I will never sell the Gordon Smith!!!

You guys missed a few things here.

Those humbuckers are handwound by GS in the factory. If you pulled the volume knobs you'd find both have coil taps. Also the tone controls are wired so that full on completely bypasses the tone pot for extra brightness. Makes a difference.

GS have always used brass nuts screwed to the end of the fretboard.

The wraparound bridge is the base option. They also have their own fully adjustable (individual string height and intonation) bridge made of chrome plated brass.

There are also different thickness bodies available, plus carved tops, semi hollow bodies and other shapes similar to SG, explorer etc.

I'd like to see a chapman guitar called the "CHAPTAIN" a total blend of guitars you both love. 🤘🏻

I've played a couple of Gordon Smiths over the years and always been impressed with playability and build quality.
At one time I was leant a GS1 and a Gibson SG Standard, and despite it being my first chance to play a genuine Gibson, it barely left the case.

Being an owner of a Gordon smith single cut, I can safely say they are absolutely excellent, reliable and bags of tone. =)

I've got 3 old school Gordon's (made in Manchester) and they are by far my favourite guitars, they are utilitarian and amazing.

I bought the very guitar that Chappers is playing in this video! Let me just tell you folks - it is FANTASTIC! Hands down, the most beautifully made, resonant and toneful double cut guitar I've ever owned. The team at Auden who now make GS guitars really know their stuff and are to be congratulated!

And an info infill, all the pickups are handwound at the workshop in Northampton. If you go to the workshop to buy/spec your guitar they'll even help you to wind your own :)

My Dad's friend sadly had to give up playing guitar because of illness last year and decided to gift his guitar collection to me. The biggest surprise of the bunch was the Gordon Smith Graduate he'd had made. It plays like a dream and sounds fantastic. Hope more people check them out now you guys are stocking them.

You guys should get some Crimson guitars to review or even stock at Andertons. They're fully made in Britain and are wicked! The raw series is unlike anything else on the market.

Nice to see the Gordon Smith brand getting some love. I'm fortunate to own a handful of these from various eras, ranging from a very early Gemini to an almost brand new Firebird. The early ones are really astonishing bits of kit, but I have to say Auden have really raised the game and the new ones are every bit as good as the early years stuff. Ultimately it's a workhorse guitar and the Auden produced stuff runs rings around most other guitars. As Rob pointed out a fantastic guitar to tastefully upgrade to your preferred spec, your paying for quality timber, and cedar is a particularly sweet sounding choice as I can attest to with the Gordon Smith guitars I have made from cedar

Dear Chappers and Captain, Please get your facts right BEFORE shooting the video. I’ve noticed you’re been getting a bit sloppy lately. It only takes a quick email or phone call to the manufacturer get the information you plan to share. Thanks.

Yeah. You've totally undersold these beautiful guitars guys. Gordon Smith are head and shoulders above any Chapman guitar, and they do have models to compare with your British built (wholly overpriced) option.

these are wonderful instruments. i had the pleasure of playing a GS2 and a GS1. the GS2 was amazing. they say its affordable because its all handmade in the UK. alot of guitars are mass produced. even though these are, they are all handmade to customer preference. now if you were going to get a british Luthier to make you a handbuilt guitar from scratch he would charge you £500 just for labour. so these are good value. feel nice, play nice, sound wonderful. domnt knock them until you've tried one.

Rob your channel is pure gold. I must say that it has evolved over time in such a fantastic way. Cheers from Arizona!

Why you no stock these amazing guitars at the moment? They're superb guitars. Wouldn't swap my Gordon Smith Graduate for a Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop!

Gordon Smith has been making quality guitars for a long time. I bought one in 1988 while I was making an amp purchase and the instrument I was given to try out the amp with was a GS2. It compared very favourably to the Les Paul Custom and 1976 Strat I had at the time.

Would Andertons ever stock Crimson guitars? They are a british Custom shop and they have recently started putting their guitars into shops. Their custom instruments are not cheap but their production models are very well priced.
