Does it matter where the power point is? Mine is in the center of the ceiling (fairly standard I guess) so that would be in the middle of the setup

These only look good on a black ceiling, but around 95% of people have these on white ceiling which in my opinion, is pointless.

Pretty much the same. What you need is task lighting and also wall lighting. Trust me, a nice light on your wall lights things up really well, just sucks when you blind yourself accidentally. Ceiling lighting will generally create shadows on the floor.

I reckon I"m the only one that doesn't like it. It makes the ceilings feel way too low and the room feel less open.
