Before I start building cabinets for the custom basement bar, I need a workshop! The time came to finally clean out the garage and give it a makeover. In Part 2 of this series, I complete the renovation! I put in a new epoxy floor, install a Rogue squat rack, install tool box cabinets and garage storage, organize the garage, and install new lights. I also make some exterior upgrades as well including new exterior lights, new address numbers, new garage door, and a brand new driveway! I packed a lot in this episode and hope you enjoy the content! Let me know what you think!

Thank you for watching and hopefully you found the video helpful!

TIP for the light... if you leave an extra nut on the screw and then cut the screw to size, you can back the nut off and it will remove the burrs and keep the thread where it needs to be.

At today’s prices, you are now a rich man with that saved lumber :-)

When cutting threaded rod I always thread the nuts on passed where I’m cutting. Then you can take them off and you don’t need to clean up the burs.

Exactly what I was looking for, a garage gym with space for wood work/working on the cars! Thanks for sharing your build/garage makeover

Leave the nut screwed in when you cut a stud. It cleans the threads when you back it out.

Love the Rogue stuff. Wheels on your weight tree never seem that. Innovative

i would recommend leveling out the area around/under the rack if you plan to do squats/deadlifts/olympic-lifts, a slight side-slope can cause issues when you move close to your max load

Before i Cut a screw or bolt down i thread a nut on past the point of the cut, then after i cut i remove the nut and the nut natrually folds the burr down and then you dont need to worry about it.

Well done. I'm almost sold on the cabinets. Color choice on the house was very nice. Very sharp finish.

Put the nut on the bolt wind down past where your going to cut then you wind off cleaning thread

Careful. I broke my garage floor… even though I had gym flooring (thick rubber mats) and bumper plates. And my bumper plates were the really thick ones, I think that’s the rogue competition set which is thinner (less surface area means more damage it can do). It first started cracking then where I would always deadlift it dug a hole. I never noticed because it was covered by the mats. I didn’t notice until I walked over it and it felt dug out. In hindsight, I would use rubber mats and a layer of thick plywood (1 3/4) on top of the mat.

Light screws...alot of wire strippers have a spot to thread the screws in and cut them as well.

High quality linesman pliers or wire cutters will have a cutter for trimming long electrical screws. I use knipex 13 72 8 wire stripper, no need to bring out the grinder. Great transformation! Mind if I ask how much the professional floor coating cost? I would also like to do that
