A reminder that 23andMe is not a diagnostic tool. It can detect certain issues, but this should not be taken as a final diagnosis. Instead, after reading such a report someone should go see a doctor and continue from there. It's unfortunate that this video is just an ad, but their product is still pretty amazing, as I can attest from experience. I knew I had possibly inherited the same genetic defect that contributed to the early death of one of my parents and one of my grandparents (50% chance). 23andMe pointed it out in my reports, I went to a specialist and it was confirmed. As a consequence doctors helped me maintain a lifestyle that should largely help avoid the same kind of life-threatening events that killed them.

Prevention is ALWAYS better than a cure. It would have been a little better to be more upfront about 23 and me sponsoring the video. Doesnt make it less valid and I might try it.

Wow, I know that Freethink is basically just a channel full of paid content made to look like stories, but this one was really distasteful.

I hope one day we can genetically modify babies or something along those lines to assure them fantastic health... Not doing so would be rather evil - saying you want a child but dont give them the best chance of wellness. People that disagree have simply not lost enough or suffered enough.

Did I understand this wrong? Did she take out her uterus /cut off her boobs because she's at a higher risk of cancer without actually having it??

Maybe just maybe that’s how you’re supposed to die, now you have chested fate, who knows what negative things will occur and things rebalance out.
