Rule no.1 - your fuel cap is on one side on the car on 99.5% of vehicles. Pull up to the pump on THAT SIDE as sometimes the hose isn't long enough to reach across the car!

I was always under the impression you had to drive up to the pump in relation to what side of the car the fuel cap was - didn't know the pumps extended that far.
