How To Make Your Own Stone Pestle And Mortar (It’s Surprisingly Easy!)

Useful in the kitchen, and as beautiful as the stones you choose – how could you not want one of these? (I suspect they may make excellent chistmas presents too.)

It would be easy to make a deeper hollow than I made – but I really don’t think it was necessary. Plus, it’s easier to clean when it’s shallow.

Yes, this is a big heavy one – but if you want, just choose smaller stones. (Sorry, was that a bit obvious? But you wouldn’t believe some of the comments we get on our videos…)

Don’t steal our stuff!

Not sure which is more beautiful, the stones or your narration!

Great video! This is a better design than the deep kitchen ones I have. I have been trying to crack hemp seeds but they keep skipping away 😂

I am going to steal this idea for a great Christmas present for a chef friend of mine, I hope he likes it.

Thanks for the inspiration.

That's ... a really nice idea. I didn't realize the granite would carve so easily!

I'm totally going to try this. Thanks so much!

You can also use a bowl and I'm guessing a round rock or a carved round peice of wood too.

That's just awesome and amazing. It reminds me of the Japanese wood or glass ikebana vase, they use to make their unique floral arrangements. I think the Japanese arrangements would be beautiful in a rock version as well, for if remember what read about them long ago, they often prefer using natural elements in their creations. It takes a special gift to take what is considered ordinary, and transform it into the extra-ordinary...and with it, you are both imbued. :) Gretchen

"Do you need anything ground up?" Wow, still laughing.
Sir, you are the Stone Whisperer, the Grinder Ninja, inspired me to secure a similar corduroy vice. Thanks!
