The actor who plays mouse and the girl in the red dress appears in Episode II: Attack of the clones in the bar scene. Mouse offers death sticks to Obi Wan where 2 drinks are on the bar, 1 blue and 1 red. Obi drinks the blue one. The girl in the red dress is again in a red dress and bumps into a anakin but he doesn’t flinch unlike neo.

I remember bringing the video home to parents. Mom will talk through the whole movie like it's not even happening, Dad could usually care less.
I suddenly realised my mother was silent and both parents were riveted to the tv. Dad even asked if he would miss anything if he went to the before the lobby scene! We paused.

Fun memories! Nobody in school was interested in going to see this right when it opened theatrically. I got one girl to go with me, kind of reluctantly, because everyone just assumed it would be like Johnny Mnenomic. Once word got out, however, we all went back several times. That coming New Year's Eve, in a huge party of school friends overlooking the city in a highrise apartment, The Matrix DVD played on loop on several TVs. We left '99 and entered 2000 with the soundtrack blasting. The world was never the same again. Over 20 years later, many subsequent world events and societal changes still seem very misaligned, artificial, and idiosyncratic - very similar to what's the described in the initial Morpheus and Neo conversation. That movie has more resonance now than it did back then, and even then it was still the biggest thing in the world. I love your videos, Minty!

I honestly can't picture Will Smith as Neo, so I think he made a good call, even though Will Wild West was awful. This was Keanu Reeves big break and I can't picture The Matrix without him.
