Fact is most if not all NATO States are spending more and will continue so, Even if the war ends. Russia made a horribly huge mistake and will pay it for decades, not 1 but 2 generations will pay, is already dimnished, despised and tarnished.

This interviewer is a little bit dumb, she needs to understand some facts.
2006 NATO guideline \ recommendations passed - 2% of GDP, it's not money paid to NATO. It's their own countries' defence spending budget; it's not a law, not a rule, not a requirement, but a guideline.
NATO was formed in 1946 and right up to 2006 it had no guidelines at all. Trump keeps saying they need to pay, and payments to NATO, this is wrong. It's an allocation of their national GDP to defence spending. Countries are paying no one, it's their own defence budget the 2% relates to.
