Mr. Stoltenberg was previously Prime Minister of Norway from 2000-2001 and from 2005-2013.
In a press conference on the day, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, expressed his commitment to implementing the Wales Summit decisions to reinforce collective defence, to expand NATO’s network of partnerships and preserve a strong transatlantic bond.
“The Summit set a clear course. The decisions taken at Wales will ensure that NATO stands ready to face the future”, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg said. “So as I take office, these are my three priorities: keep NATO strong; help keep our neighbourhood stable by working with partners; and keep the bond between Europe and North America rock solid”.
