After we made Gin Tonic 3 variations video a lot of you guys asked how we make clear ice for cocktails. So in this video tutorial I showed 3 best ways to make clear ice at home. First, using a home ice maker, second large clear ice cube trays and the most pro way to make large block of ice then cut it on desired pieces (large cube for rocks glass and spear)

As a pro tip, from someone who works/worked at bars that has a hand-cut clear ice program, be sure to buy a cooler with a drain at the base to empty the water from under your ice slab with no hassle. You just need to spike through some ice growth around the drain, prop it up by a sink, and when you flip it, no mess. :) God bless you, my crazy Russian cocktail comrade.

5 yr old me method of making clear ice:

Step 1: Take normal ice from fridge
Step 2: pour water on it
Step 3: We have clear ice boi
Step 4: Then proceed to take a lighter and try to burn the ice before wondering why it is not burning

Did you know, that if you hold power button (for more than 5 seconds) while turning on the ice machine, it will produce a bit sturdier ice? It will add couple minutes to the process. The cubes won't have such big holes inside. I bought that exact machine couple weeks ago, and I'm totally in love with it. Keep being awesome!

I have recently started the cocktail journey and have large moulds but the clear ice is definitely better, I haven’t bought any clear ice maker but you can use insulated flask or coffee cup etc to make clear ice with the lid off, they are smaller than the ice box if space is a premium

A warm or hot plate can be used to melt the sides to the smooth and flat edges you need, and it will leave the ice looking perfect.

seen a bunch of videos on making clear ice, i really like this one. Especially the "lazy" way, number 2 :P But last option is a must! especially for thost frickin high ball glasses. Ill invest in this for only my good friends who are worth the beautiful ice in the glass!

I hadn't drank in a while(no particular reason) and clear ice has me start drinking again but in a more refined way. Jack and coke and jagerbombs didn't promote higher quality drinks. After making a bunch of clear ice I just wanted a reason to use it. I can't go back to regular ice now and I'm drinking things like Old Fashions, Negroni, White Russians and Mojitos. Drinks I've never had before and enjoy a lot better for longer with each individual cocktails. Thank you guys for passing your knowledge.
