I love how smart and slightly manipulative Singed is in this scene, when Viktor is talking about the Hexcore and the plants, Singed is already developing a new variant of Shimmer right there. Then instead of making a variant that is compatible with plants, something that Viktor could have used to experiment with and alter by himself, Singed instantly gives Viktor Shimmer that would be used on himself and he gives Viktor just the right amount for Viktor to inject himself with but not enough to test with, basically saying 'you either take this yourself or you get nothing'. Then when he gives it to Viktor, he reminds him of his morality, 'I know the look of a doomed man' making Viktor feel vulnerable before holding the 'cure' in front of Viktor's eyes. When Viktor hesitates, Singed reminds him that they are both men of progress, 'love and legacy are the sacrifices we make for progress' (Viktor and Skye, making Singed seems like the only person that can relate to Viktor). Singed also mention how he turned away from Heimerdinger just like how Viktor disagrees with Heimerdinger making it seems like Singed is on Viktor's side, even more than his mentor, Heimerdinger. The final nail is when Viktor convince himself saying that Jayce will understand and Singed instantly agrees, 'Perhaps', even when Singed disagrees, he will say anything so Viktor will take the Shimmer.

Pay attention that Singed didn't ask anything in return. He helped Victor knowing that Victor isn't only a coinvetor of Hextech which means he is a hero for Piltover as well as Jayce but also that he is a partner of the most powerful guy in the city right now.

Singed said they would despise him, but he never told Viktor he'd end up despising himself.

“That’s why I parted ways with Heimerdinger.” No one, not even LoL fans, would have expected a line like that. It raises so many questions casually as if Heimerdinger and Singed are the past versions of Jayce and Viktor, each one doomed to follow in the footsteps of their predecessor.

Singed was a sleeper hit, not much screen time but wow what a way to introduce the most evil character in the game, a man with no morals and who will experiment on anyone and anything to see his life’s work complete.

"Love and Legacy are the sacrifice we make for progress". I always assume he was talking about furthering his research. But it's about him unwilling to sacrifice his 'love' for Orianna led him to part ways with Heimerdinger's progress.

There’s no malice from Singed here. Viktor came for help, and Singed gave it to him while also securing a potential new pathway (Hexcore technology) towards getting his daughter (Orianna) back. It was a practical, win-win exchange.

The catch? Science does not come without risks. Singed has made peace with that, and acts regardless. And yet understanding that others may not be as unreserved, he warns Viktor of the price he has already paid. Viktor accepts, knowing that it’s now or never; to gamble with immense risks or to accept an agonising and certain decline into death.
