The android back gesture is so ingrained in my brain that I find it hard to use iPhones. Your thumb is already near the edge of the display most of the time, it makes going back super simple compared to reaching to a corner to hit a back arrow or trying to one-handed stretch your thumb to the far edge of the screen and then swipe.

I have no idea why NOT iPhone set a dedicated back button on the bottom left or right like Android? The gesture control is not easy for one hand control as it swipes from the left, neither is the UPPER left corner arrow key.

Why not from right to left ... Which is more natural.

Or give a user a choice.

I was shocked when I found out iPhone doesn't have a universal back swipe from the right like android

This is the only real reason I'm not switching to iPhone just yet...I hoped for iOS17 we'd get edge gestures like samsung and android have had for literally years.

It's not ergonomic to swipe right thumb from left to right unless user is lefthanded

i was so tempted to buy an iphone, i love the 15's, but the android side swipe gesture is really too good to miss out on. I don't use it just every now and then, it is literally a core part of how smartphone navigation should work nowadays. Hope apple nabs this idea :)

I wish this "back gesture" works on every context.

If you know what i mean, we are not always able to use this gesture when inside app. For example, facebook app when you open photo or video and then need to back to original post. Can you do this swipe gesture??

As long as i know, we only able to back using back button on top left, or sometimes close button on the top right. And even sometimes there is nothing i can do other than close the app and reload it again to the home menu.

Am i the only one here to feel this experience ???

How do you disable the swipe to go back feature? I hate it with a burning, fiery passion.

Can I turn off the swipe to go left? It’s so annoying!

Why the fuck is it on the left side? On android I can use either side, but primarily use my right thumb. I don't have the hold the phone like a baboon with 2 hands. IOS is a mess. I have to tap 6 buttons to do basic navigation, and they're randomly in the upper left, bottom right, wtf?

I want to get iphone but missing back button is holding me back

But why the back button so far high? Out of reach for most users. I have small hands, I can't even reach the left edge of the screen to navigate back. That's how ths most expensive phone works 😆

Even tho android and iOS have very similar navigation gesture now, I always swipe from the right edge of the screen
(much quicker and convenient)

I hope iOS 18 allows it too since I'm actually considering giving ios a try.

Just bought an iPhone 13 and instantly regrets it, my pixel 5 was way better to use, but let's be honest, the video quality of the iPhone is so much better and apps works flawless and smoothly compared to android. Apple should fix that simple gesture feature

This should be working from right to left also, is there any option to change this?

Wow, you are a piece of work mate. Good thing now, I found an extension which shows dislike to like ratio in the thumbnail itself. So, I don't have to waste time in watching such videos.
