I spent twenty minutes trying to start from a book and kept messing up. This video taught me how to start in 3 minutes. I want to hug this lady

Thank you so much! This was super helpful as a 14 year old and easy to follow along. I can usually only knit, but now I can cast on too! Thank you!

Right!!!
Congratulations!
You will be able to design whatever you like, specially when you start knitting young.
So creative!
Big hug

Hello there.
When you cast on, try to make it very evenly. The first knit row is always the most difficult one. Try to not pull at your stitches. Knit then close together so you don't make a gap between them.
Thank you for your interest!

This is by far easiest way I have seen to cast on.

Best cast on video by far. I watched all the "basic" cast on for beginner videos that were newer and had higher reviews but this was the only one that I could easily follow and was made with a simple method of show. Instead of repeating a step over and over to "simplify" the process, she just went through a little slow and explained as she did it and repeated until to line was finished. Loved this !

This is exactly how I do the knitted cast on. So smooth once you get a nice rhythm going. Very relaxing! Thanks for sharing!

I started knitting when I was 5. Loved it!
I never read instructions, (I didn't know how to read very well at 5!) My mother never read instructions neither. We designed our own things.
I had to learn what the abbreviations meant when I started teaching.
