It’s because George decided on the day of filming to throw all the planned choreography out and have Ian Mcdirmid do his own stunts which he had to learn in a span of hours. George sounds like a pain to work with

I would kill for a new extended and remastered release of the prequels with all the quality extra and replacement footage they took out of them. The films are already great, so just imagine what that would be like. They would be AWESOME!

I absolutely hated this fight. It could have been the single most epic star Wars fight to ever hit the screen but they gave it 15 minutes and downgraded it for the sakes of "authenticity" or something.

They really didn't do this fight that kicked everything off justice.

I understand that George wanted Ian to do the fight scenes, but Ian couldn’t have been a worse choice especially with a day heads up to do a fight scene.

Ian just isn’t trained for it, which is why parts of the fight scene were just awkward. Don’t get me wrong, Ian is the perfect portrayal of Palpatine, but not for fighting sequences.

I WISH they kept in his full show but honestly I do kind of like how he just took out the 3 Jedi masters in the first few seconds; it speaks a huge amount to just how strong he had gotten from right under their noses.
