Mace is stoic, but that doesn't make him heartless. It's small moments like this that really would have helped with recent perceptions of his character. Mace is the best Jedi of his age, and he's more than able to back up that sentiment. But he's also the leader of the Order, which makes it difficult for him to be able to freely, softly level with others as he does here. He's always had faith in Anakin as a Jedi, but as a person he sees Anakin clearly has a lot he still needs but doesn't want to overcome. This may come off as harshness from Mace, but it's always coming from the right place, even if Anakin can't see it.

This really makes me like Mace Windu even more. He may be a strong and powerful stoic Jedi but he has his moments of trust whenever the time calls for it. This effectively makes him a strong well developed character, even for a secondary character. Ya here that you folks over at the DEI! Even in the early 2000s there were awesome people of colour in movies like this!

I feel like if Anakin didn’t interrupt Windu, he may have even promoted him to Master for his help in taking Sidious down.

This makes Windu better. At least with this he cares about Anakin and his freedom to choose his path. They should have kept this. I like it.

Had Windu been played by anyone else, probably people would have hated him... But Jackson is just naturally likeable

This make it seems like Windu was actually just being hard on Anakin for what he prob thought was his own good. But actually fully trusted and had faith in him that he would only express around his peers. That actually makes it more sad what happened. It also shows the incredible wisdom and reflection from Obi-Wan that he goes onto have more when he gets older in the originals, already surfacing here. This should have really been left in. And then make it clear thats it cause of the Clone Wars that he ended up having to qualm his concerns about Anakin. And make that play in as another regret on his part.

Mace was great. I love Anakin, but people try and blame others for his personal mistakes to much. Just like the council that Anakin freaked out about. Mace clearly told him were not going to start letting palpatine appoint people to the council or who was a master or not. Anakin freaked out just because he didn't get his way. He didn't give them any respect for making him the youngest Jedi on the council ever.

I think if Mace Windu trained Anakin he would’ve been able understand him better, kept him away from certain people like Padme and palpating, would’ve taught him vaapad to channel his dark side energy and emotions into a way to defeat evil.

Mace never hated Anakin before rewrites. He is a Jedi Master. To say that he allows for emotional dissodence to influence him after DECADES of training, simply because? Is silly.

Yes, Mace did not believe Anakin should have been trained, at first. This was not out of insecurity, but in accordance with their pre-established rules.
