I am on my second pair of KURU Chicanes. I want to try the Quantums now. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever wore. I will only buy KURU for now on. They are very durable; all leather. Very nice quality. I have had my second pair for almost 2 years now and they are still doing amazing. Feels like walking on a cloud.

Great review. I am going to give these a try. I cannot, under any circumstances, walk barefoot in my house. I have hard wood floors and the pain is unbearable.

They look like nice shoes. I must try a pair because plantar fasciitis is really painful! BTW, my doctor told me NOT to ever walk barefoot because it would continue to injure my foot and eventually worsen the pain. So be careful. Thank you for the great shoe review! If I purchase a pair and they really work for me I will definitely post my own Kuru shoe review video!

I am a couple of months short of 80 years old. If there is a foot problem out there, I had or still have it. ( plantars, diabetic neuropathy, flat feet (from birth) and heel spikes. I am a fit bit nut and average15-25, 000 steps a day. Ran into kuru while surfing the net about 5 years ago and have never looked back. I am now on my fifth pair. I am career Navy (21 yrs) and a Vietnam vet. I was exposed to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. Because of that the VA buys me certain shoes annually. I am currently trying to convince them to put KURU on my approved list, told they are currently looking in to it. I am not, by any stretch, a paid customer of KURU. I believe in the shoe(s) and encourage anyone to give them a try. The first month or so will be a bitch, as the shoe will be conforming to your feet. After that, they are a walk in the park.

Thanks so much for this. I'll grab a pair and see if it helps. 👍🏼

After 4 years how do you feel about them? Is it worth the $160?

Would you recommend these for cross training or court sports (tennis, basketball, etc…)?

Thanks for the review! However, I have a question. I have been wearing arch supports for years, and they help SOME. I bought the Quantum shoes and love the heel area. but found that the tuberosities on the 5th metatarsals of my feet begin to hurt. (The bone bump on the outer side of each foot, between the heels and the balls of the feet.) Burkinstocks will mold to these bony points in a short time. Will the Quantums? I have contacted the Kuru people for any answer. Any thoughts about my problem?

11 months later, how are they holding up? Have you purchased a second pair?

Fashionable??? Man they are ugly. And reality is that they could keep the over all shape and style and simply use more attractive materials. The toe cap material takes me back to TG&Y days. LOL
But having Plantar Fasciatis I can tell you the mornings are when it is best not worst. Immediately after wearing my boots and then setting for like 10 mins when I get up my feet are tender. The oofos slide is the only way I can walk to get up to go to bed. But after a nights rest my feet are fine when I wake up. 1 hour on my feet and the pain is back. I can tell you that stretching your feet and doing the exercises that can be found on the net help more than any shoe. I have not tried this shoe but I do believe the cantilever action would help just like the Avia shoes I played college ball in back in the 80's did.
A few shoes that I know are pretty good for plantar fasciitis are nike Vomero and Saucony triumph iso 4 and Asics nimbus series and Hoka ONE One Bondi or clifton.
Recommending shoes for plantar is hard because it can be onset for different reasons. Some believe over pronation to be the reason. But I am a bad supinator and cant find arch supports to support the outer arch enough. And those that are higher on the inner arch and shoes that have medial posts only throw me even more onto the outer side of my foot making it worse. I do believe the Kuru approach of a centered alignment to be a good approach and my have to bite off an ugly pair. As an engineer and life long athlete in 3 sports I can understand quite a bit about the mechanics. I will say that if they would be willing to blend their centered technology with the Hoka metarocker thought process they might just be able to make the greatest shoes of all time.

But again work on the esthetics. They are made in utah which makes you think mormon but when you see them you immediately switch your thoughts to amish trying to break out. LOL
