Hello Biblical Binitarian, I am very happy to see a very sincere christian in a very long time. The unitarian christians and binitarians have really opened my eyes to a new kinds of christians who are actually seeking for the truth and nothing else. Although I am somebody who still lacks quite the amount of knowledge related to christianity, I am a follower of the religion islam . Please Please if you are a truth seeker, I would love for you to learn about islam because I am 100% sure that it's the truth. Please do some research and you can watch people like muslim lantern on youtube and you can go and question where he does live streams where anybody can go and question him related to islam or chrisitianity's validity. Thank you and I know I wrote a lot but it's because I really want the best for you.

The Church Fathers were strongly opposed to Binitarianism and upheld the orthodox view of the Trinity, which teaches that there are three distinct persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are coequal and coeternal.

For example, in his work "Against Praxeas, " Tertullian, one of the Church Fathers, defends the Trinity and argues against the idea that the Father and the Son are the same person. He writes, "The Father is one, and the Son is one, and the Spirit is one, and these three are one." This statement reflects the orthodox view of the Trinity, which holds that there are three distinct persons who are united in one divine essence.

Similarly, Athanasius, another Church Father, defended the divinity of the Holy Spirit in his work "Against the Arians." He writes, "The Holy Spirit is truly God, consubstantial with the Father and the Son, and not a created being or a mere force."

The Bible also supports the orthodox view of the Trinity. For example, in Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands his disciples to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, indicating that all three are equal in importance and authority.

In 2 Corinthians 13:14, Paul blesses the church with the Trinitarian formula, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you." This passage reinforces the idea that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are distinct persons who are united in one divine essence.

Overall, Binitarianism is a heresy that denies the full divinity of the Holy Spirit and contradicts the traditional Trinitarian view of God. The Church Fathers and the Bible both support the orthodox view of the Trinity, which teaches that there are three distinct persons in the Godhead who are united in one divine essence.

In the Old Testament, the Person of the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) is actively involved in divine works, not only in creation but also in redemption and revelation.

In the Old Testament, the Person of the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) is actively involved in divine works, not only in creation but also in redemption and revelation.
Genesis 1:2 states that at the beginning of creation “the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” The Hebrew word “rûaḥ” can be translated either as “Spirit” or “wind.” The latter term is used to suggest an impersonal force (see JPS).15 It is the context that determines the meaning of the word. The verb “hovering” (mĕraḥepet) more properly takes “Spirit” as its subject than “wind.” The composite expression “Spirit of God” (rûaḥ ʾĕlōhîm) is consistently used in the Torah as a clear reference to the Person of the Spirit of God (see Exodus 31:3, 35:31; Numbers 24:2).16 The Spirit of God is participating in creation as he “hovers” (rāḥap, Deuteronomy 32:1117) over the waters, preparing the way for the creative Word of God (Genesis 1:3) and the transformation of the earth, readying it for habitation. The psalmist confirms that it was God’s Spirit who transformed the earth: “When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground” (Psalm 104:30). Notice the Spirit is sent forth by the Father and therefore is distinct from him. In Job 33:4, Elihu acknowledges he was made by the Spirit of God: “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” The Spirit was actively involved in Elihu’s creation, just as he was in the creation of Adam (Genesis 2:7).

The nation of Israel’s exodus from Egypt is the major redemptive event of the Old Testament (see Psalm 105:23–45, 106:7–32). The people of Israel knew God as their Savior through the threefold activity of the Lord(יהוה) as seen in Isaiah 63—the Father in verse 8 (cf. 63:16), the Son in verse 9 (“angel of his presence, ” i.e., “the angel of the Lord”18), and the Holy Spirit in verses 10 and 14 (cf. Psalm 51:11). The personality of the Holy Spirit is seen in the fact that he can be “grieved” (Isaiah 63:10; cf. Psalm 78:40–41; Ephesians 4:30). The context of Isaiah 63:8–14 looks back to the exodus when God saved Israel by means of the “angel of his presence” (“he redeemed them”) and the Holy Spirit/the Spirit of the Lord (who was “in the midst of them” and “gave them rest”). Isaiah 63:8–14 shows a distinction between the Father, the angel of his presence (the Son), and the Holy Spirit.19

2 Samuel 23:1–7 records the last words of King David. Verses 2–3 state,

The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me; his word is on my tongue.

The God of Israel has spoken; the Rock of Israel has said to me.

The Spirit of the Lord spoke by and through David that the Messiah would be a righteous ruler (2 Samuel 23:3–4). The New Testament affirms that the Holy Spirit spoke prophetically through David (see Mark 12:36; Acts 1:16, 4:24–26). The fact that the Spirit speaks shows that he is a Person. Moreover, the Spirit of the Lord (verse 2) is identified as the God of Israel (verse 3).20 These verses confirm that the Holy Spirit is a Person and that he is God.

In his farewell discourse in the New Testament, Jesus told his disciples that because he was going back to the Father, he and the Father would send another Helper “paraklētos” (cf. 1 John 2:1), the Holy Spirit, to dwell in them (John 14:16, 26, 15:26, 16:7). Jesus presents the Holy Spirit as a divine Person, as he is eternal (John 14:16) and truthful (John 14:17) and would teach the disciples (John 14:26; cf. Luke 12:11–12). The fact that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit from the Father shows that all three Persons of the Trinity are distinct (John 15:26). Furthermore, the numerous triadic texts in the New Testament make it very difficult to think that the Father and the Son are different Persons while the Holy Spirit is not.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

To be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:16)

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. (1 Corinthians 12:4–6)

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

For through him [Jesus] we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. (Ephesians 2:18)

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord [Jesus], one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:4–6)

But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord [Jesus], because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. (2 Thessalonians 2:13)

According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood. (1 Peter 1:2)

But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. (Jude 20–21)

The Holy Spirit in these passages cannot be referring to the spirit of the Father as he is not only distinct from the Father and the Son but equal to them.

The Bible presents the Holy Spirit as a divine Person (Acts 5:3–4) who is distinct from the Persons of the Father and the Son. For example, personal pronouns are used of him (Acts 10:19–20, 13:2); personal properties are ascribed to him—wisdom, knowledge, might (Isaiah 11:2), and will (1 Corinthians 12:11); personal activities are ascribed to him—he speaks (Acts 13:2), he reveals (Luke 2:26), he comforts (Acts 9:31), he can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30), and he can be lied to (Acts 5:3). Furthermore, several New Testament authors identify the Holy Spirit as YHWH (יהוה) of the Old Testament (Acts 28:25–27 quotes Isaiah 6:9–10; Hebrews 3:7–9 quotes Psalm 95:7–11; 2 Corinthians 6:16 quotes Leviticus 26:11–12).21

Something I noticed in my studies is that you will never see these fancy, theological words in scripture. Essence, being, persons, and the much debated hoomousia (substance). The word trinity isnt even in scripture, and if anyone studies the early christian writings BEFORE Nicea, they will find that the word trinity (unlike us today) was used as first an anology in fhe second century of the Fathers Word and wisdom, and then as a way to refer to the Father (who was always hailed as the one God, the Almighty who is greater than Jesus and fhe Holy Spirit), the Son (who was begotten of the Father before the creation, but always within the Fathers bosom before being numerically distinct as the Father's Word, Wisdom, and Power), and the Holy Spirit (who as an early writer referred to as an effluence from God).
Edit: look out for an email I sent you. I will apologize as it's decently long, but I really want someone else's input on this.

#1 The Arians argued for the use of biblical language alone at the Council of Nicea. However, precision of language was needed to distinguish what the substance/essence [ousia] of the Son was in relation to the Father. Was the Son homoousios (of the same) or homoiousios (similar) in essence?

I am completely comfortable with the wisdom of the Church guided by the Spirit in baptizing philosophical language for the purpose of refuting heresy.

#2 I'm not going to try to quote Scriptures to necessitate belief in Triune worship, Tri-personal love, or a kingdom ruled Tri-personally because I reject your presupposition of Sola Scriptura. I stand with St. Basil who in his work "On The Holy Spirit" said, "In response to the claim that giving glory with the Spirit is unattested and non-scriptural, we say that if nothing else is nonscriptural, then this should not be received either, but that if most of our mysteries are authorized without Scripture, we will receive this along with many others. Standing fast in non-scriptural traditions is, I think, apostolic. For it is written, 'I praise you that you remember me in all things, and hold fast to the traditions, just as I have handed them to you' (1 Cor 11:2). And, 'Keep the traditions that you have received, either by word or by letter' (2 Thess 2:15). One of these traditions is now under discussion, which those, who arranged it from the beginning and handed it over to their successors (its use ever advancing in time), implanted in the churches by long custom."

St. Basil then goes on to cite references to Irenaeus, Clement of Rome, Dionysius of Rome, Dionysius of Alexandria, Eusebius of Palestine, Julius of Africanus & Gregory the Great whom I think carry far more weight than your appeal to modern scholars like Dr. Michael Heiser who are outside of the apostolic tradition seeing as they deny many ancient customs of the Church such as use of icons, standing & facing east when you pray & making the sign of the cross.

#3 Same response as #2. I deny Sola Scriptura.

#4 I confirm the reading of the Septuagint of Joel quoted in the NT Acts 2:17-18. It literally says that God will pour "out from" or "out of" His Spirit. However I believe your following question "explain whether this requires another person" & "can God pour out from His own Spirit" is setting up a dialectic tension which necessitates denial of the person of the Holy Spirit based on your own presupposition.

#5 Again...I reject Sola Scriptura however, I will not just leave that as my final answer.

You claim that Binitarianism has all the strengths of Trinitarianism and Unitarianism without their weaknesses and further claim that Trinitarians must acknowledge that Binitariaism solves "all of their problems".

I think there are many problems you have not dealt with at all. For instance, what is being poured out of God's Spirit in Acts 2:17-18? The Spirit Himself or something else?

Furthermore, how can God be in us (John 14:17) by His essence and we are not absorbed into the Godhead? In other words how do we become "partakers of the divine nature" (2 Peter 1:4) and not experience apotheosis (becoming gods by nature). How can Jesus give us His glory (John 17:22) and we do not become consubstantial to the God in divinity?

Furthermore, you have not touched Christological issues relating to divine will and divine activities of persons. Do will and activity proceed from each individual person or from the nature itself?

These are important questions that the Church has dealt with that you have not addressed at all. Therefore I am not at all persuaded to leave the Orthodox Church. ☦️

“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your SON, that your SON may glorify you. For YOU granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you,  the only true God, and JESUS CHRIST, WHOM YOU HAVE SENT I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, FATHER, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." While God is one act in nature, the aspects of that nature are perpetual distinct acts, that are concrete wills due to their perpetual nature, however let it not be lost to you that all persons of the Trinity posses the full nature of God, as God is simple and anything of him must fully be him due to his absolute nature.

First, we must dispel the idea that God changed in any character or way at the creation, God is absolute, meaning, he is of the same essence, always, he is apart from temporal occurrences, he is one point. Thus, any act of God's will must not change it, so in his absolute acts he acts perpetually, for he is in perpetual, now that is, he is in his own perpetual state before creation and after it, because God doesn't change his will he is perpetually in his acts which because of his acts’ absoluteness they become wills of the divine nature.

The Father:
We must see that there was no time before the creation in which God was there in nothing, one day creating out of a mere whimsical decision. For, God created out of perceptual decision, which due to his nature of being one makes the decision an absolute will of God. For as mentioned in the previous paper the ultimate goal of an absolute God would be creation. However, the want to create out of love, as I have said must be perpetual, via the absolute nature of God. This perpetual will of creation is an absolute aspect of God’s divine nature. Because this will is a distinct perpetual aspect in the mind of God it is an absolute aspect of divine will; it is the perpetual will of the creator (the creature, being that perpetual will to create, not of separate being from the divine nature). The father is the will of the lover who creats so that his creation may know him as intimately as he knows himself and is a separate distinct will within the divine nature, yet the father still enables the divine nature.

The Son:
How great is love like this of our eternal God that he has created us to enjoy himself, not for him to enjoy. How great a love that he humiliated his very likeness and being to our means, that we may be free to receive him, how great a love, how beautiful a God, how majestic a thing to ponder his humility and glory.

The will of understanding God, Jesus lived and dies as a testament and representative of God's love as he is the perpetual understanding of God the father from himself, true God from true god as The absolute Creator and lover the father, must understand himself so perfectly that it is a perpetual understanding that as a perfect will to understand in the divine mind becomes personal fully understood Image of it. For, From the will to create springs the will to love the creation, which cannot be so if the will to create doesn't already know itself and love itself so it may know to creat so that the creation may love him, simply the creator must know himself before he creat creatures to enjoy in the divine will of understanding, the divine will personified by himself. The Son is The perfect will to Know of complete knowledge of the divine nature (the image of the father as the fathers image is not only the will to create but the image of the divine nature as every member of the trinity contains fully the divine essence). It is a distinct will and is begotten from the will to create (meaning that the good God’s will to create is followed by ). The will to love creation however must be perpetual, as without it there would be no need for the will to create.

The Holy Spirit:

is the love of true god, as it helps us know God as it is the loving and knowing of the father, true god to his word and image of the son, for the absolute perpetual creatore would not be good to create if it did not love itself enough to know the good of creating creatures to experience himself. From the will to create comes the will to share the divine nature out of love for it is that love which the father sees by the begatting of the son. The will of Love shared between the Image and the creator enable the creator to creat. The fruit of creation followed by love is the need to lovingly give creation with the divine spirit and nature. The holy spirit is the aspect which is the act of perpetual sharing of the divine nature, and is the will of giving spirit (that is sharing the divine nature). The Holy Spirit is what flows from the union between creation and love which is enabled by the creator and its begotten love for creation.*

*(The holy spirit processes from the father and the son as the union between the will to create which gives the will to share nature out of the love for the will of loving the image of God enabling the sharing if nature, thus the holy spirit proceeding from the love of father and son love for creation enabling the will to share nature and the will of creation giving creation creating for the purpose of being willing to love and willing to share the divine nature).

I just want to share some clear evidence from Scripture to debunk Binitarianism specifically.
Firstly, 2 Cor 13:14 mentioned all three persons in the benediction in which there is no necessity to mention the Holy Spirit if it is not existent separately. ( 2 Cor 13:14. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.)

Secondly, during the baptism of our Lord Jesus, it was clearly mentioned that God the Father spoke from Heaven and the Holy Spirit descended like a dove and alighting on our Lord Jesus. (Matt 3:16-17. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”)

Thirdly, our Lord Jesus mentioned that He had to leave in order for God the Father to send the Helper (the Holy Spirit) to the disciples. John 16:7. And the Holy Spirit will not speak on His own authority but will only speak what He hears and will glorify our Lord Jesus implying the subordination of the Holy Spirit to Him. So there is clearly this subordination to one another in the God-head. God the Father would send God the Spirit to be subservient in His ministry to glorify God the Son and will not speak on His own authority but declare the truths from God the Son. John 16:14. These verses – John 16:7, 13-14 – will be incomprehensible if God the Spirit is not a separate Person from God the Father and God the Son. According to Binitarianism, if the Holy Spirit is just the spirit-being of God the Father or God the Son, re-reading these verses will be incomprehensible. (John 16:7, 13-14. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you…When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare to you.)

Fourthly, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. If the Holy Spirit is the spirit-being of God the Father, then it will be ambiguous to intercede to Himself since we know from John 16 that our Lord Jesus is distinct from the Helper, the Holy Spirit. (Rom 8:26-27. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.)

Lastly, we are given the Great Commission by our Lord to make disciples of all nations and baptizing them in the name of the Triune God – God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In Acts 19:1-7, the disciples in Ephesus did not even know of the Holy Spirit despite being baptized by John the Baptist and telling them to believe in the name of Jesus our Lord. They did not have the Holy Spirit since their understanding of the gospel and the Triune God were likely to be spurious.

Through the centuries since the birth of the church, creeds from ecumenical councils and confession of huge part of Christendom have affirmed the Holy Trinity.

Love the video . I am introduced to this concept for the first time.
You said there is no verse showing the love for the holy spirit, what do you think about, forgivable sin is blasphemy against the holy spirit ? Dosent it show the love of the father towards the holy spirit ?

I’m a believer in Christ Jesus, I learned what I know about God from his word I have no special training or biases about God. Im going to share what I see, understand this is a small part there are tons of points I could make. If you’re looking for 100% proof you won’t find it, if you had all the proof where would faith come from.

I’m going to assume you have seen the many verses and don’t believe so I’m not going to present many obvious verses but rather I’m going to show you the relationship of the 3, give you the best example of the trinity and try to explain why denying the Holy Spirit as a person creates a huge problem for the gospel message.

Jesus is the embodiment of God, the Holy Spirit is the manifestation of God’s righteousness and the father is the will of God in heaven. When you pay attention to the way they interact and how their mentioned you start to see why the trinity is so important when choosing your savior

Think of it like this; the will and desire comes from the (mind) which is the father, the means is the arm (holy spirit) and the finger is the son which is used to declare the father’s will. Meaning he makes everything manifest that is manifest by the power of the spirit according to the will of the father

Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen

Jesus is God in the flesh he’s the evidence, the unseen is the father and the substance or essence is the Holy Spirit. The trinity is where faith comes from

Now let’s talk about the problem that presents itself if you say that the Holy Spirit is not a person: when you get to Jesus conception, without the spirit you have God the father conceiving Jesus in a woman who’s engaged to be married and that would make Jesus the product of sin. Though God is spirit, the scriptures reveal him to be embodied The spirit can conceive in the woman because the spirit is a person without a body if he weren’t a person why does he conceive?

Jesus is the lamp, the Holy Spirit is the oil and the father is the fire if you don’t have one of these things you don’t have a functioning lamp to guide you.

Hands down the best example is the parable of the 10 virgins, the lamp analogy is indisputable in my opinion because it shows a closed relationship between the 3 persons of God that is essential for perfect balance

Why does a father love his son, or a son love his father? The love comes from the relationship they share with each other. To us the relationship is a consequence of their love and isn’t thought of as another person but I believe that is exactly who the Holy Spirit is because otherwise the love and affection is not from within but without

Consider this where does the love that you and your wife share come from? We say our hearts because we have no clue why we love some people and are not so accepting of others. We know where hate comes from we immediately know it comes from our fallen nature and never question it, love is of God because it’s produced by the relationship of the 3 persons. That love that they create is what people experience on the earth.

Think of any father and son relationship, what do they have in common? Last name, and blood right?

Jesus said who are my mother and brothers? They who do the will of my father are my mother and brothers

What is the common theme? Spirit, he who has my father’s spirit is my family, he who has my father’s name are my family.

The sabbath; God rests on the sabbath so if you’re working and God is resting what spirit do you have?

It’s one essence and two persons, but the essence is also a person of God because their love is internal you can’t just have a son and father you have to have the love or bond between them to also be God they are a closed family even the love is so important he is a person of God. God doesn’t need our love to be whole but we need his love to be whole

To make sense of this; imagine you who are body, soul and spirit were able to separate and be in different places but you shared one mind. Now imagine that your spirit the root of your being was how love moved in and through you

The Holy Spirit is also the character and knowledge of God, his mind, will and emotions the fullness of God on earth while the father is in heaven

I’m not perfect and I’m not saying I know this for a fact, it’s what I see myself as I read the word. Don’t complicate God in your mind or you will find yourself trying to figure out who you’re talking to and end up creating two or 3 gods because you can’t make sense of the persons

Every religion uses the trinity to try and accuse us of pantheism. The trinity is always under attack that should tell you something

Normally I write this but I never send it because I don’t want to turn anyone away from God even by accident. I have to many sins I need forgiveness for to waste my time pointing out someone else’s flaws but I feel in my heart t need to say this

Could you consider making a video on 1 John, showing Who is referred to in each passage when it says "Him" or "His"? It would be helpful 👍 It seems like people may use 1 John to imply that there is one God with several persons in that one God, as it seems like 1 John may switch randomly from referring to the Son or the Father when using the words "Him". Bringing clarity to the text would help see it from the perspective that you hold 🙂

I started out a trinitarian, until I started reading the Bible everyday and discovered the truth. Most so called "trinitarians" dont actually read the Bible and the only scripture they read is what the pastor tells them to read while in church once a week.

Brother Mario, apologies for the late response for this video you sent the link to (it’s thanks to college life lol), but I must commend the excellent work you’ve performed in this video. The video really resonates as someone who is a transparent trinitarian. To be honest, even though I agreed with you, I have but one challenge that I could provide that you can help me understand a little better.

The response I would have concerns mostly on Genesis 1:2, Job 38-41, Isaiah 66:13, and John 14:26.

Firstly, I want to bring attention to verses that some trinitarians (myself in the past included) would like to connect in conclusion of God the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:2 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

Isaiah 66:13 “As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

Job 38-41 is God’s response to the debate between Job and his three friends, commonly depicted as a whirlwind.

The way most trinitarians would connect these passages are how the Holy Spirit plays a role as someone who comforts and is often depicted/understood as a breath/wind of God. I am, however, interested in how binitarians would respond to this understanding. May peace be unto you and God bless.
