As a person living in Switzerland, I can confirm that this is propably true. Before you get a citizenship, they might interview your neighbors, boss etc. to ask whether you‘re „accommodated well“ or not. In Switzerland many people try not to stand out (which I personally find sad - long live indivisualims), so if you‘re doing something that your neighbors might find very unusual or annoying, I can totally imagine that they might deny you a citizenship.
(Also their rules are quite weird in general. If you’re not a citizen, you require a permission to stay - you can either get it for 1 year, 5 years, or a lifelong one. I‘ve been living here since I was a child and me and my mom only keep on getting the 5 years long ones, while my dad and my sister got the lifelong permission almost immediately. Make it make sense.)
