If your having trouble going to sleep, here’s a tip

If you try to go to sleep, you won’t go to sleep.
I know that sounds weird but trust me
Instead of stressing out and trying to ‘force’ yourself to go to sleep, just relax and think about whatever, maybe what you might want to do tomorrow. You’ll find you just doze off automatically.

Edit: If thinking about what your gonna do tomorrow keeps you up, just think about whatever makes you relaxed

I can notice an IMMEDIATE difference when I don’t get enough sleep which is why I try to prioritize it. This definitely makes me want to stay on the right track 😅🙏🏽

I can confirm that most these have happened, especially the emotional and humor points.

I can actually relate to this. I often stress a lot so I don’t even get constant sleep. I wake up after 3 hours, then pass out at random when my body reaches its limit. Because of school I got used to sleeping only 7 hours. So my body just naturally doesn’t allow me to sleep anymore than that. My family would be talking then ask a question and my answer always starts as “huh? Oh-ummm——“ it’s never straight to the point. Once my body reaches the limit it shuts down, I may not feel like I’m asleep, but I actually am. Also my nerves start to fall asleep without constant movement. Just leaving my had resting for at least 30 minutes 2 of my fingers became numb.

Interesting.
i am mostly working highly efficient and precise while being in a very good mood entertaining everybody around me while also motivating them to incredible levels, after 24 to 48 hours of no sleep.
But when i get to the 72 hours or more i lose memory and get headaches, have to sleep like 12+ hours then.

Did that for a month ... it was a very productive month, but i felt extremely exhausted and sick, more and more.
So i got back to normal ... hella boring, but i propably live longer that way. :D

I actually was severely sleep deprived when I was with my ex because of his snoring; for too long I felt like a shadow of myself so you can imagine how strange it was, once I'd ended it, to get a full night's sleep. I didn't realise how much my body had been starved by the lack of sleep but now I can get a full night the difference in my energy levels really shines. Agree on all these points.

My accumulated sleep deficit is somewhere around 600 hours... I'm always more or less in a state of sleep deprivation. Despite my best efforts, I have rarely slept "well", and when I do, it's usually accompanied by anxiety nightmares. The human body and mind are fickle things.

2:18 That was a clever piece of work!
PS: I don't know if any of u know this or not, but I've heard that it's always good to sleep in multiples of 1.5 hrs (90 mins). And this works for me really well! Like, when I sleep for 7.5 hrs at night, I wake up feeling awake and refreshed, whereas even after sleeping 8 or 7 hrs I wake up kinda tired.

The frightening thing about this is as an EMT, I work 24-48 hour shifts and might get like 2 hours of sleep a day if I’m lucky. Especially now with a shortage of EMTs and Medics, the call volume stays consistent but the staffing is a lot less 🙄

Thank you!
I've always wondered about sleep, so I found this interesting and could relate.
I have only ever had 5-6 hours sleep for over 10 years now. If I sleep longer, it usually means I'm unwell. As far as I can tell I'm fine. 😊 If I get less than 5 hours though, my mood drops, I get very snappy and impatient, and I feel stressed. My memory is terrible and I have trouble focusing on conversations and remembering what people said. I also find everything feels like a much greater effort than normal.
I use an app to help me keep regular hours. Getting good sleep for myself really makes a difference!

I definitely suffer from all of these except losing my sense of humor. I think this now plays a big part on why I’ve been so suicidal. Definitely glad that I became aware of this, thank you.

It’s 3am and I am now going to sleep after watching this

I can relate to this alot, I’ve been noticing how much I’m having trouble having sleep and so, I just end up laying in bed staring at the ceiling. I feel like this is due to the fact I have undiagnosed anxiety and haven’t been taken to a doctor (Toxic parents situation, but I’m hoping once I attend college, I can save up to see a therapist or something). I always stay up due to stress and the feeling like I did something bad
