In this video, Alison discusses a recent research study that shows that the amount of Achilles tendon damage showing up on a scan does not correlate to how much pain you feel, what activities you're able to do, and what your chances of recovery are. By looking at tendon damage, pain, the patients' beliefs and fears, and activity levels together, the researchers classified Achilles tendinopathy patients into three groups. Watch this video to find out to which group you belong - it might help to figure out the best treatment approach for you.

I really appreciate the in depth sharing of recent evidence on treatment of Achilles tendinopathy. I’ve suffered with incredible pain for many years; frustrated beyond belief after failed attempts with multiple therapies within a variety of professionals where the treatment philosophies were vastly different. It wasn’t until after consulting with Treat My Achilles that I’m starting to find relief and more confidence that I’ll be able to get back to doing what I love physically…to the extent that I want to build upon without worrying that my life is or will be severely restricted or that I have to go under the knife. It’s been four months of strict compliance with a load program. I know it’s going to be a long haul, but I’m inspired by the results I’m seeing so far. Thank you for your dedication to cutting edge treatment and continuous education on this topic. It’s absolutely refreshing and doesn’t go unnoticed!!

Interesting, this goes against data on percutaneous needle tenotomy. Scans post debridement showed smaller leasion where in direct perportion to reported pain.

Does sedentary lifestyle cause tendonitis? I have had zero exercise in the last three years, durin covid and after. The only exercise i used to do was walking in the last one year, wsnt even stretching.
