5:50, the white horse behind krishna is the reference to Kalki avatar of Vishnu. Currently we're in Kali Yuga which is the last yuga in a Yuga cycle (The iron age or dark age) where adharma rises and reaches its peak and can be seen everywhere in this universe. In general humans forget what is justice and dharma and behaves like demons. So he takes avatar to give a full stop to all of these. He is described as riding a white horse named Devadatta and wielding a fiery sword and by the end of this cycle, a new time cycle starts which is satya yuga. Just a last thing to say. Kamal Haasan here called as Supreme Yaaskin is also known as Kali. Kali is a demon who reigns during the Kali Yuga, an age of darkness and wrongdoing. So Kalki avatar is all about war against adharma and killing this demon to restore dharma. 12:18 and again as per puranas Shambala will be the birth place of Kalki, the place where sinners can't enter and see as it'll be invisible and only people with good deeds and follows dharma can see and enter the place. Ashwathama was a great devotee of lord Shiva. There is a Shiva's temple in India in which offering of flowers is found mysteriously before the priest opens that temple. No one ever found who place that offering but some people that it's ashwathama who's who was punished by lord Shiva..

When you say's Ashwattama is no match for Krishna as a God, you have to know just like Krishna was an incarnation of God Vishnu, Ashwattama is an incarnation of God Shiva. Drona's penance towards Shiva granted him the boon that Shiva himself will take birth as his son, as a result Ashwattama was born. The gem on his forehead is the "Shivamani" which is representative of Shiva's third eye. But during their lifetimes, Krishna realised the purpose of his birth and raised to the status of God, but Ashwattama got caught up in the Kaurava politics and had to take their side for many reasons including his dad beiing on that side. Shiva is known to be an angry God and the God of destruction in Hindu mythology, Ashwattama's anger and short temper reflect that.
