I had the honor of working the local draft horse classic for several years. I found them to be sweet, friendly, regal, very intelligent, spoiled with a good sense of humor.
Their massive size is incredible. One day I asked an owner if I could have a picture taken with his four horse hitch. He smiled yes. So, I stood between two Belgians and two Percherons (sp. ?). I am 5'3"; the Belgian next to me lowered his head down in front of me everytime a picture was taken. Size wise, the top of his head was even with the top of my head, his lips were even with my belt buckle. In the last picture I managed to push his head back enough so that I could some what be seen. I'm sure the horse winked at me. The owner and I both laughed.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I remember 50+ years ago seeing my first draft horse….. they are one of the most beautiful animals out there! We had a number of tree trunks on my family farm! As a 6-7 year old I was amazed then and I still am!

Don't know why but if I could choose a horse for me I would love to have a draft horse.
They are so beautiful. I like ghat they are not just strong but they looks like it. And while they are known to form strong bonds with their owner...nothings better. Must be amazing to have such a strong partner.
