I’m fluent in horse, that short, nasally snort means “This is bullshit.”

That horse trusts his rider alot. But it’s the riders responsibility not to put his horse in dangerous situations like this.

I don’t care how cool this looks. It’s not worth risking your horses legs horses will enter themselves to please you.

The comments of people caring about their horses more than showboating is awesome 😊

Nope, I wouldn't risk my horse like that. Even if I knew he could do it.

A regular ass horse aint doing that shit, the amount of trust he has for that human is actually GD amazing!

At first I thought that was gangster af, but then the comments helped me realise it was just needlessly putting the horse in danger.

Both the rider and horse look extremely experienced and trained. The man knows the land and I’m sure started training the horse on less steep terrain.

If this is a mustang, then they can take extreme trail situations- but, I would NEVER put myself, let alone a creature that TRUSTS me to take care of them in harm's way. The strata or cliff stability is not a predictable element. (Now, if I was being chased by some hostile, indigenous people in the 1800's?? Then you gotta do what you gotta do!)

Invaluable skill for a trail mount to have. These comments are _way_ off. Not only do they love doing it, they're the best at it and have been used to save many lives in brutal terrain. Trust in the horse, don't berate the rider for something you know nothing about. No rider worth his weight would ever allow an untrained mount or improper breed to even attempt this

The amount of people commenting that don’t understand is mind blowing. There is a difference between having a pet horse that you ride in a pasture, and having a partner that you work with. He’s a cowboy, probably in New Mexico although that’s just a guess but wherever they are they have to deal with this type of terrain on a daily basis. They are doing their job and they are good at it. You can’t go around to the path of least resistance if everywhere you go looks like this. Riding to a shallow spot in that gully could take hours, or even days depending on the size of the spread. And by the time you get to the cow or horse your trying to get to they are already dead or long gone. He might be show boating, or trying to sell his ability as a hand or a trainer. Anyway you look at it both he and the horse have what it takes to do the job. And while it may not be part of the job where you or I’m at, it’s definitely part of the job where he is. Hats off to you sir, that’s some good teamwork.

I understand how people say this is dangerous. But it’s TRAINING. This is not something they do on a daily basis. But I’d rather have my horse know how to handle the situation rather than go at it with no experience.

Just my opinion don’t get mad.
