Lesson 1 - Basic Flight Maneuvers

Today, David takes his first lesson for his private pilot certificate. We cover basic flight maneuvers, to include straight and level flight, climbs, turns, descents, use of trim, and power settings. We combine all of these to perform spiral climbs and descents later in the lesson.

Really great video, i'm a CFI applicant and i like how Derrick is showing you how to fly and your comments. Learning how to fly is a process, it doesn't happen overnight and hearing your comments on different little mistakes along the way is a good feedback on how any future student might feel when he/she's going to do the same. Thank you for this video, i'll be watching the rest of your adventure and see you in the skies.

Terrific video for anyone thinking about learning to fly. It was enjoyable as a Flight Instructor also; this is how it goes. "The weather sucks!" - "737NM" head-smack: that is awesome - if only we all had cameras to catch and learn from our mistakes.

PS: Nvm I realized the guy wore a similar shirt as the first day and you wore a blue polo shirt which the CFI wore before the flight. Lots of clothes switching.
