In the Marine Corps, as a lance in Helmand, I would double horseshoe grizzly wintergreen dip and chain smoke Marlboro reds. Nicotine and whiskey are what got me thru my enlistment.

Not only can you smoke in the US Army, when I was serving with the US Marine Corps back in the 1970s, they still provided free cigarettes in the field rations (something they had done since at least WW II).

I became a smoker because of the US Army, and quit when I finished my 6 years. Tobacco is what got half of my battery through the day. Unfortunately, weed can't be smoked by the US Army. That's why retention and recruitment is not great rn.

The US military has heavy smokers. You can’t smoke a walk in uniform or in buildings. The Navy as outlawed all vaping on bases and ships
