I observed the dissolution of the USSR and the subsequent collapse of democratic Russia while staying within the country. Presently, I am witnessing what appears to be the decline of the United States, all while remaining inside the U.S. Bingo!

Professor Ferguson is still not sure? Anyone with some knowledge and understanding of Eastern Europe could know it is a hopeless adventure from the beginning. Very disappointed in the so-called Western intellectuals' ability to analyse the current situation and predict the outcome. It is very sad to watch such an explanation.

Failing to deter your opponent is not the biggest mistake. Failure to honor agreements that ensure's security and freedom for all parties is the biggest mistake. You want to be the only winners while neglecting the legitimate interest of the other party...

one doesn't have to be an expert to figure out that you can not win a war with borrowed weapons and borrowed money sooner or later lenders will get cold feet.

One interesting thing about wars. The outcome is never what experts predicted.

Remember... it's not about winning the war. It's about endless war.

You can’t peddle propaganda for your own preferred side and still have an accurate picture of the situation. I screencapped all of the Western analysts’ thoughts and predictions on the Ukraine war - Mr. Ferguson in particular will be able to enjoy some of his earlier statements when the dust settles around Ukraine

I wonder if Europe could actually defend a country on their border? Can Europe put together an army? Why is this always a US conversation? How about looking at EU taxpayers and making them actually do something. Why does a tax payer of Ohio need to put the first loss money in?

In what kind of 'stalemate' do you lose a city?

Is this the same Niall Ferguson who stated in March 2022 that "Vladimir Putin intends to resurrect the Russian Empire and has not finished, even if he is successful in taking control of Ukraine"?

"How much evidence is required before it is clear that Western Civilization is empty of integrity, judgment, reason, morality, empathy, compassion, self-awareness, truth, empty of everything that Western Civilization once respected?

All that is left of the West is insouciance and unrestrained evil."

~Dr Paul Craig Roberts, former Undersecretary Of Treasury, Reagan Administration

We're still pretending it's a stalemate.

Oh goody.

He wasn’t saying that 2 years ago or 1 year ago. He’s always winging it.

This snippet from an interview first aired over two months ago has lost most of its relevance as world events are moving so fast. Just when you think that things can't get any do!!!
