"War is old men talking and young men dying"

Hmm, it’s hard to tell someone keep giving your home to the neighbor whenever he moves his fence line cause he has a gun, and if you happen to get him on the ground just negotiate so he can promise he will be satisfied with the land he already took.

And that It’s the rest of the worlds faults for giving the other guy a stick, 😮 cause look now he wants to fight for his land. Omg 😳

That’s what they told Winston Churchill, imagine if he gave in.

I can't believe he doesn't mention the third option. Many invations and occupations by a greater power have failed. At some point the political cost can be simply to high.

Wouldn't Vietnam, Korea, (among others) prove him wrong?
That there's a third option.
One side decides to quit and go home 🤷‍♂️

This Soviet prophet of Russia, as always, has nothing strategically significant to say

"Russia can easily destroy Ukraine"

Russia already tried... "Easily" doesn't describe whatever they are doing right now.

The same “experts” that said Ukraine would fall within weeks, are the same experts that are now saying the offense is moving to slow, even though they are exceeding expectations” - NATO General

If you think negotiations end Russian expansion and makes them stop with what they have now, you are a fool.

If Ukraine gets Russia out of its country, then it's an absolute win for Ukraine.

Ukraine negotiated with Russia three times.
Each time Russia broke the agreements.

In 1994, Russia promised to protect Ukrainian sovereignty. It broke that promise.
In 2003, Putin signed an agreement recognizing Crimea as part of Ukraine. He broke that treaty.

Please explain to me how any sort of deal or treaty or negotiation with Russia is possible?

This is one of those guys that can convince people dying is for their own damn good.

A great linguistics who's biggest mistake was to believe he was more than that.

The issue with negotiation is that it presumes both sides are on equal footing to negotiate and that both sides have legitimacy. If I said "We should end the Iraq war by negotiating", Chomsky would rightly laugh at me and say "we don't need to negotiate, we just have to leave." The Iraq war was OUR doing, and it was OUR responsibility to leave. Not negotiate, just leave. Same with Russia. They don't need to negotiate. They just need to pull their troops out, that simple.

There does not even need to be 'negotiations', Russia just needs to leave Ukraine, the country it invaded. The war would be over within hours after a retreat.

Everyone in the comments seems upset about what he is saying but nobody is saying anything to counter his argument.

Noam Chomsky seems to forget that Ukraine did his second proposition back in 2014. They negotiated a peace settlement and Russia took Crimea. Fast forward 2021 and we're back to the same situation.

Anyone who believes that negotiations can work in Ukraine has a fundamental misunderstanding of this war.
