You need to use de-ionized water (lab grade, this way no minerals in the steam, alternatively you can use distilled water), flush the area thoroughly using some sort of minimal pressure (either a lab squeeze bottle or other means), with the board totally disconnected from any and all power sources. After doing this, use isopropyl alcohol (60% or higher) over the entire area as well. This will ensure that all the water is evaporated from the surface of the electronics. Allow the board to air dry (or use compressed air for a rush job) at least overnight before assembling back and powering up.

Part of this assumes that you have the board that hosts the C port disassembled from it's outer casing. We do this commonly to wash non-reacted fluxes from circuit boards in my corporate lab all the time.

Good luck!

Love your videos! I have a question. I realized that you did not setup ZFS on this video, and that you did so on another one. My question is this - are there any benefits to installing ZFS on just one drive? I realize I would not get the data protection benefits of setting up the install on a number of drives in a pool, but would I still get quick snapshots and potentially save space when doing snapshots on that one drive? If I did a ZFS raid-0 install? I have a single 250 GB NVME drive to install on. The box has 64 GB of RAM. Or would you just recommend going with EXT4? Thanks!

Ok, I'm coming back and editing this comment now to add an additional part to this question. Do you know if I'm only installing on one drive it would be better to go BTRFS rather than ZFS? I'm thinking I would still get the snapshot benefits (with possibly less RAM needed?), but, again, I'm not sure of the benefits here and how this would compare to ZFS on a single drive. This whole question might make for an interesting video. Thanks again.

Have any of you tried to run the VE on a 12th gen Intel machine? The new hybrid CPUs have P-Cores and E-Cores and I’m not sure if Debian is able to see them. If Intel is going in this direction, then all future CPUs will have the similar characteristics. Apparently the future Intel Enterprise CPUs (Xeon) will use the LGA1800 socket which will almost identical to the LGA1700 of the Alder Lake.
So I guess at one point Proxmox will have to follow the trend with the new generation CPUs.
I ask a Proxmox guru like you: Can we install VE on a 12th gen motherboard and take advantage of 12th gen. full functionality?

You ought to have a Walmart or a Home Depot nearby, see if they have CRC 5103 Quick Dry electronics cleaner. Boy do I miss Radio Shack!

I am trying to install Proxmox to a laptop. The laptop does not have an ethernet port and the dongles I have used are not being recognized, that is I have no internet connection. Is it possible to logon to the server from the prompt on the laptop or must I log on from the web interface?
