The Magic Trackpad is the most underrated accessory. I only use mouse for retouching now. For everyday use, office work, even for video editing, the trackpad wins by far. It's so much faster to get things done.

I think the most underrated feature of the trackpad is being able to disable “clicking noise” completely in settings. It maintains the nice ‘clicky’ sensation silently

I've learned to use the track pad on the left side of the keyboard and my Mouse on the right as I'm right handed, it takes a little time to get used to using my left hand for gestures on the track pad but I found I like having both easily accessible this way. Love the video and looking forward to the Headphone review!

I’m a new Mac user myself, and I do love Touch ID. That being said, I usually have it docked. If you set up your mac to unlock with your Apple Watch, it’s just as good. I walk up to my desk, move the mouse and the MacBook unlocks automatically. You can also use your watch to approve purchases or downloads instead of typing it in each time. I use the same Logitech keyboard in combination with my Apple Watch and don’t miss Touch ID at all.

20:18 That is why you get a compact keyboard that is without number pad etc. The normal Apple Keyboard, then the trackpad next to it.

The sounds dropping in and out might be related to your settings. When you connect the headphones the first time, the software defaults to connect to the closest device in their range automatically or to whichever device is playing sound. In which case, if your phone is between you and the computer (or in your pocket), it might competing with the MacBook for the connection. Because of this, all my Apple headphones (AirPods Max, Pro, and the OG) are set to only connect to the devices "when last connected to them." So, I have to manually connect the headphones which I want to switch it from device to device, but it's less of a convenience instead of it switching randomly, especially when you're in a quiet place like a library.

30 year Mac user here, funny we agree on all these products. As for colour of the trackpad, I've had a white one for as long as they've been around but decided it was time to get one for the office. I was aprehentious of the darker but that lasted about a second. DEFINITELY get the dark one you will love it.

The MX Keys is a must for me as it can connect to 3 different PCs, I have a Mac Mini, a desktop and a laptop and the experience is smooth.
Plus it has the special Logitech Unifying Dongle, so you can connect it with your PC Bluetooth or this dongle that even works to access bios on PC on which Bluetooth didn't start yet.
The only issue is the backlight is capricious and sometimes doesn't stop blinking for no reason.

I have the black track pad. It looks so much better with a dark wood 🪵 and black setup. Thanks for great insight into these products. Keep it up and can’t wait to see new videos.

For people with carpal tunnel, being able to switch between mouse and trackpad can halve or quarter stress (left and right handed use). Also, did you test call quality with AirPod Max?

Funny i love the magic mouse, especially for the touch screen .. so easy to scroll or double tap to enlarge. For me charging is not an issue. Yes it's a design flaw but you don't have to charge it that often and when you get the notification that it is almost empty than you can charge it for 5 minutes and it will make it to the end of day and you can charge it when you are off the computer or you watching a movie or something. I personally love the ergonomics. bigger mouses feel to lumpy for me .. i don't know maybe i have small hands :)

For all the knocks on the Magic Mouse and its ergonomics/charging, I continue to use it because the omnidirectional scrolling allows me to work much faster with my photo workflow.

There is a firmware you have to upgrade the headphones. You shouldn't return them until you get them functioning properly because they sound better than the Sony or Bose ones. Plus the way they switch from device to phone is pretty nice if you are listening to music and get a call, it will switch automatically. It will constantly switch from device to device without the firmware update.

I started the Windows to Mac journey about the same time you did, and have been enjoying seeing your take on it. I also ended up using much the same set of peripherals. The difference is that I just use the Magic Trackpad now without a mouse. I love that trackpad! I kept my MX mouse sitting next to me for awhile, but ended up never using it, so now it’s sitting in a box in the closet. I also love that Logitech keyboard. On the lack of a TouchID key, I notice you were wearing an Apple Watch in the second half of the video. Just set your Mac to unlock with the watch and you won’t miss the TouchID anymore.

Been following your journey to Mac keenly as I myself a life long windows user purchased a new MacBook at the same time as you and have tried the Apple keyboard and mouse. The quality of the mouse is fantastic, I so wanted to love it, but yes those ergonomics are horrendous, what were they thinking 🤔

As a left handed guy i've never had the space issue with the magic trackpad. Left side: trackpad, middle: keyboard, right: mouse. Daaamn i love so much the trackpad

100% agree with the trackpad, I've had several fancy mice, such as Logitech MX 1, 2 and 3, G502, G903 etc. I end up using the trackpad for my MBP and my Mac mini 95% of the time. The only scenario where it does not do well is for gaming.

I love the magic mouse. I can't use a mac without the mouse with the small touch pad on top. I use the gestures ALL the time

Go for the grey, if you’re anything like me having the white will eat away at you over time as it sits next to your keyboard. Crazy there’s a price difference for the same thing but that’s life.
