Dude, I have been looking for the EASIEST way to get this done. I have a small shed i'm finishing. Mud drying time does matter for the first time DIYer. You will want to practice with what ever you purchase. The mud will dry faster on unprimed or mudded drywall. I would recommend a quick sand and then prime so all your surface is at the same drying time otherwise you may get one result in one area and another result in others. Prep is your friend in all projects 👍🏻

Here in the midwest we use a hopper to spray it on...Let dry a little bit and knock it down with trowel...

I now feel confident I can do this myself. Thank you, for the link of needed supplies. Sometimes the guys in the hardware store are condescending to woman if they don’t know exactly what it is they need for a project. P.S. When I go to the link for Sheetrock mud, it goes to different supplies but doesn’t show any Sheetrock mud. Can you please tell me exactly what to buy? Is it joint compound? Is it a powder?

Lock down the drywall first by using either a shellac like BIN or an oil based primer, then apply the mud.

turns out you need an incredible amount of join compound to do this. I dramatically underestimated how much.
