Had my 12.9 for almost a year and it is rock solid. Apple Pencil is top notch. Updated os 's and it's still fast to this day. It has replaced my laptop for about 70% of what I do.

My Surface Pro 3 (i7/512gb SSD) has just been replaced with a iPad Air 2. Surface Pro 3 was a perfect form factor - let down by buggy hardware and software (not helped by Windows 10). Simple things like switching from desktop to tablet mode, or portrait to landscape easily confused it. No such problems with a simple iPad. Not sure why both companies added the word 'Pro'. To me this means the ability to connect lot's of external devices - iPad pro has? Surface Pro - one USB port. Start to add USB hubs and it defeats the portability. I'm sure OSX will merge with iOS to become iOX or something - makes sense for Apple and developers alike.

its a 4:3 aspect ratio display eventually it look like a watching videos in CRT TV regardless of what resolution the iPad pro have.

This Apple offering is obviously directed at a particular creative/productivity audience, and as a professional designer/illustrator, I can't wait to get my hands on it for that very reason, especially the bigger size and Pencil, as I have gone thru 3 other Wacom and Adonit styli and wholly dissatisfied with performance and capability.

A lot is said about it not running the Mac OS and pales in comparison to the Surface which does run a full OS. Yeah, well, I've heard all the horror stories from creative professionals who have tried using Photoshop on a Surface with the lag and barely perceptible UI—neither conducive to a professional workflow.

I would never try to do finished, professional client work on a 15" or smaller screen (I reserve that for my iMac and Cintiq 27" displays) and look at the iPad/iPad Pro as a portable, flexible workflow device, not an endgame solution. With apps like Procreate and those that Adobe is developing specifically for iOS the iPad Pro becomes a very useful and productive tool in the hands of the professional creative.

Thanks, CNET! Your video has convinced me that I am going to hold out with my ipad air 1 for another year and not jump the gun this time round. The ironic part is I only saw this video in the apple store as I had cash in hand to buy an ipad pro lol.
