I looked at a red one at the dealership today. 2017 model, the red paint was perfect. I could see no issues at all with the paint, including on the hood. Not sure that issue is a big deal if you look after your car properly.

I'm glad you mentioned engine stall! My wife want to buy a CX-5. We own a KIA Sportage & I have had that engine stall problem a LOT! It comes at the most inopportune time, like trying to get into fast moving traffic or if someone lets you IN to traffic & you need that turbo boost, it goes & fucking dies on you. I have learned NOT to stomp the accelerator because when the power finally comes back, you feel like you're shot out of a canon! I REALLY don't want TWO cars with the identical problem. Thanks for mentioning it!!

I have 2022 mazda cx5. Two issues i experienced so far. 1. Infotainment issues as you mentioned. Screen goes black or freezes and restart. Had to reset the system (requires three button press easy to do) several times in one year. 2. Fob key doesnt unlock other passenger doors at times. Both issues were not solved by the dealer. I like the car so i can live with those issues but mazda seems to be weak on tech reliability. I still recommend it. My sister has 2018 cx9 and has the same issues with infotainment.

No problems with my 2022 CX-5 Select. My only complaint is NO Sirius Xm radio 😳. Had I known that Sirius isn't standard on all trims like everyone else I probably wouldn't have bought it. Come on Mazda!

Look for something else since joining a 2018 nothing but brake problems loud noises when accelerating something hits the undercarriage and it's suspension constantly feels like you're swishing around in water

The brakes suck the rears wear out before the front this is an engineering design fault I could part be partly due to the electronic rear calipers through my observance has put on air-cooled rotors and new pads break still feel funny
