for the taller guys heres a tip(im 6’2 this helped me) i struggled with keeping my butt from winking at the bottom and never being ablento press it into the seat so i put a plate on top of the seat pad and it elevated me just enough so it doesnt anymore. I forgot who made that short tip but it helps loads

Another tip: don’t use momentum to push but rather let your muscles experience the strain all the way up, if you can’t do it like that then you should lower the weight and start doing that

feet placement lower means more quad focused, more up means more hamstring focused, that's what I've heard but if I'm wrong feel free to correct me i don't wanna spread misinformation

Quads are responsible for knee extension (and one of the muscles for hip extension as well). If you can get a full ROM with a high foot placement it shouldnt make any difference, but low foot can allow you to go deeper depending on your body structure.

remember kings - only go as low as your feet allow, before your heels start to lift up - which decreases load and increases stress on the joints (double-whammy for long-term muscle growth)

weightlifting shoes are good, since they have elevated heels, which enables more knee flexion (quad/leg stretching) without your heels lifting off
