Verizon is planning to use a 5G gateway in your neighborhood, and it's important to know if it will hold up. This 5G gateway is meant to provide faster internet, but is it really worth the switch? In this video, we'll take a look at Verizon's 5G gateway and see if it's worth the switch.

If you're thinking about switching to Verizon, be sure to watch this video to find out if it's worth it! We'll take a look at Verizon's 5G gateway and see if it's really that great. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Looking to save money on home internet? Me too! This is Part TWO of my experience with the Verizon 5G Internet Gateway that costs $25 a month.

I am not sponsored by Xfinity or Verizon in anyway. Just a raw honest opinion.

Will it hold up to cable internet (mine is Xfinity Currently)? Will it save me money on my $280 a month Xfinity bill? I'm trying to find out and give you my honest opinion. I've done a side by side comparison using my Xfinity cable internet service VS the Verizon 5G Internet gateway.

Over 22 devices and over a far distance through the walls of my house will be tested for the next weeks to see if I can drop the high cost of cable internet. I'll be looking at reliability, customer service, and over all usabilty to see if I switch to Verizon for home internet.

I’m showing my process of how I hooked it up, utilizing the current Internet system that my house was built with. I had some pretty interesting findings. And testing is continuing.

Please subscribe and comment on this video so it will help me make the next parts and give my take on any questions you may have.

Upload speeds are for hosting servers. Web, game, etc.

For gaming, it helps to have a higher upload to get host advantage when playing Peer to peer games.

Its not really a massive requirement though.

Generally for gaming you only need about 1-2 Mbps per gamer using the net in your home.

Even download speeds aren't to important, 10 Mbps per gamer is probably a nice start, although you can do with less.

What is important is the way the router is filtering and sending traffic, aka how it's traffic shaping.

Upload speed is important if you have to upload large files to an offsite server. Ping time is important for gaming. Thanks for the video. I appreciate your review of Verizon home internet.

How safe is 5G mmWave Spectrum throughout your home?

Look at videos on how to use the Verizon cube in bridge mode and connect it to your own router. That is what I did for mine.

One thing I found out is that I need to have the gateway nearby my PS4 if I want to play online. I tried to use a lan cable and wifi with the gateway being in a different room and I could not play online. I don't know why the gateway has to be near my gaming console for it to work online

I just got mine Monday, and the picture quality streaming with Verizon is more crisp and I have fiber 1000/1000

I am thrilled with mine. Before the Verizon 5g home internet, I was using a T-mobile phone as a hot spot. I got about 10mbps for the first day or two of my billing cycle, then got 600kbps for the rest of the month. The only other option was Hughes satellite. The speed with the Verizon 5g is all over the place. The lowest I have seen is 20, the highest is 350. It is almost always over 200. Whatever, 5 is enough to stream hp video, and I live alone. Total for my 5g phone and home internet is $95.00/month.

I have my own router fed from a modem from WOW. If I get the Verizon router, can I use a lan cable to connect my own router, (thus not having to change any devices that were hooked up?

Good morning from Oklahoma City.

My Verizon 5G will be arriving today so I can check it out and compare it to my Gigablast through Cox Cable.

When it comes to gaming ping and latency is extremely important. The lower the ping means no lagging (rubber banding).

I hope I can save money with Verizon new router though.... Cox $200 vs Verizon 5G shall see.

Upload speeds are important for sending videos to youTube.

They sent me one. I’m returning it. There is no 5G in my area on my phone so I won’t even connect it.

lol Saw Part 1 and was wondering where Part 2 was and then bam today it appears in my recommended. Thanks for the video!

I'm expecting my Verizon 5g gateway tomorrow and super excited. I have cable internet right now at home and though the speeds always show great of 500+ Mbps I notice that it isn't constant so playing video games lag and streaming constantly adjusts between 720/1080 and 4k while I live alone. I have spent years complaining but they just come out and say speeds are fine. I think the lines are just super old and there is too much noise. Then one night, last week, I decided to use my hotspot on my cell phone to play games and though I was only getting 25Mbps (as my phone only gets 4g) I actually had way better results lol.

I have Verizon Unlimited and so I'm getting this for $25 per month and I think its a cheap enough price to add my house to compare for a bit and see if I can drop this cable internet which is $110 per month.

I also see you uploaded part 3... :-)

While I’m over here with 50mbps on a good day, this the fastest speeds we’ve ever had. We went to Verizon for other reasons and they told us we can get that box so we said sure why not now I’m excited to see those crazy speeds. Even if I get 100 I’ll be blown away lol. And ping is good for gaming the lower the ping the better

My Verizon 5g home internet was fine for the first month, then the nightmares began. While you're getting your 200+ and 300+ download speeds, I got less than 10 or less. I called tech support and they were no help. I finally figured out myself how to at least get 50-60 mb out of it. It's going back for sure.

I had this gateway hopeful because it was pretty cheap but I couldn’t get past 30 mbps. I was pretty bummed so I’m low key jealous it works for you

For those blaming the Verizon 5g cube Is causing the slow speeds I highly doubt it. I think It has more to do with Verizon towers, your best bet is to call Verizon and let them know speeds are slow that happened to me too until I call them and the sent my ticket to technical support. After a few days I noticed my speeds became more consistent and more stable. I want to think they looked into my problem with the speeds and did something to the tower off course I'm just speculating.

Your speed is dependent upon distance to cellphone tower, population near that tower and the number of persons streaming or gaming on that tower at the specific hour you are using the same tower. Once the kids come home for school, things may slow to a crawl

Got my Verizon 5g today -- before I saw your vids on this product. I got 250 Gb out of box. Supporting smart TVs and YT. Ultimate test is my PS4 multiplayer! I'm trying to get Cox out of my wallet -- they're constantly hiking rates!

I don't believe Xifinity is available in my area. How did the verizon 5g hold up in regards to reliability (more concerned about reliability than speed for my personal use)?

I've been hanging on to old/slow internet for longer than i should. Several reasons, it's fast enough for me living alone, it almost never goes out, and i figured wireless 5g would replace wired home internet at some point- so was waiting for that day before upgrading.
