Mine USBs case is even worse, I lost it and found after 2 months or so, then I open it up, 28GB used with files created on dates such as 11/09/32 some in the year 2072 and some 2092, the thing is I lost it and found it, before I had only 9 files saved which took 1GB but now these random files created at dates like 22/07/2072, they don't delete, nor do they copy and paste nor open.

Thanks man it worked, it showed progress and it also pasted some files on my usb drive, but the progress bar is showing 0% complete. Is it because my file size or something else?

this did not work for me. today the 1T external hd arrived to alleviate the jam in my 512G laptop. been moving files i rarely (or never) use. decided to move my music files as there were quite a few gigs in them. i only play them once or twice a month and for that, i can plug in the drive. except the music folder is now empty on the drive and i cannot find a song on it or on my laptop. i recently lost all my albums & cds and this was all i had. some of this music will never be heard again as i had a lot of indie bands from my rock star days in california. those things cannot be replaced.

i followed your directions carefully. the file is still empty, although it's showing an album cover image that it swears is not there. like a ghost.

This only works for actual "system" files or files that are hidden, which are set that way for a reason.

I have a different problem that I can't find an answer for, so far. I had a Windows 7 PC, with several files downloaded to it. I put them on a Flash drive, and when I try to open them, it just goes to Edge. The downloaded file doesn't seem to be on the Flash Drive.
