In a case I examined in my digital forensics degree, the suspect used eraser to try to cover his trail/tracks, but we had imaged the drive, and FTK (forensics toolkit) by Access Data was able to recover enough deleted bits (bytes, really) in slack space to prosecute a case. I accidentally deleted videos from my USB drive and googled how to recover and boom! Got all the videos back. Can't remember if I used disk drill but researching how to do this will help. I have a sister that thinks I'm a computer nerd but I just research what I need help with. She's just lazy.

I had lost of really important files that were stored on a USB flash drive that got corrupted (unreadable on any computer). Video is old but here's my question. I've known about this for a long time and I've always believed (supposedly I read it somewhere) that emptying the bin and plugging out the drive would remove the files permanently. Can you confirm/infirm? Thanks.
