Yum! I usually add diced dill pickles, pickle juice instead of lemons juice, diced red bell peppers, and fresh or dried dill. 😊

I used to work at a music store in the late 70s/early 80s back when I was in high school. It was part time, but I worked all day on Saturdays. My boss was a vegetarian. She'd by lunch on Saturdays at the health food store she shopped at. I remember the tuna salad she'd buy. It was fantastic. I liked it more than the real thing. I never asked what it was made of though. I'm guessing it may have been chickpeas and the flavoring was in the seasoning. She'd also buy these vegetarian hamburgers on occasion. They tasted like real meat. She said it was made out of a mushroom.

I’ve been making variations of chickpea tuna since I became plant based 4 years ago but I think I like this one especially. I’d add a little old bay. I’d like to try a tuna melt with this recipe or even tuna mac using chickpea elbow macaroni. I love the idea of adding the ground flax seeds. They won’t change the flavor but they will add those all important omegas. Thank you for this!

I feel so guilty eating tuna but need the protein so this is perfect. I just made it and it's absolutely delicious! I made it w/pinto beans, too, and it was amazing.

You can also use soy chips insted of chickpea it will save you the over night soak in water and it has bettwen 50 to 70 grams of protin

Yum. I add black Himalayan salt for an egg flavor. So delish if you like eggs in your tuna salad.

love your recipe thank u, and a hint when u chop onions, dont breath through your nose, from the very first cut into an onion to peel it, just breath through your mouth and u wont cry at all

Have you ever thought of adding Irish moss or sea moss powder to give it a fishy taste.. it has a lot of minerals so it would add to the nutrition. Thanks for your recipe
