No affiliation with cat scales, they just happen to be really easy to use.

Drew, you are a lifesaver! We watched so many YouTube channels, but none showed us clearly where to stop your truck and travel trailer. I liked that walk-through of cat scales.

This is the most helpful video on weighing your rig that I have seen yet. Thanks for being so concise. Much appreciated.

Appreciate you taking the time to do this. I've a red 2017 F350 Lariat gasser at 6.2L with 3:73 pulling my GD 2800BH TT at 5500 dry - 7000 loaded. Weighing it next Monday for the 1st time and this is exactly what I was hoping to find today.
No problems towing with my truck, but I wonder every time if the feeling of being more stable in a diesel would have been worth the extra 10k to tow my under 10k TT. Probably, yes, but I didn't have it at the time and the truck I got was mis-quoted almost 10k under so I snatched it up and like/love the thing. Perfect for me since I don't tow more than 7-10 trips a year, but still use it as a truck. ...and I still wonder. 🤣😂

When you weighed the truck by itself, were your truck axles on the same pad 3? Or was the front on pad 1 and the rear axle on pad 2?

So you don't have to do a second weigh without the distribution bars?

do you disengage the weight distribution hitch for the truck/trailer weighing to get an accurate reading of the tongue weight?

What's the best way to weigh if I have a weight distribution hitch? Do I take the bars off or leave them on before weighing? I also have a separate tongue weight scale that I can use to confirm if I've got 10-15% of the trailer weight on the hitch. When we add our bikes and carrier on the back of the trailer we often get trailer sway and I have to add about 10 gallons of water to the fresh tank up front to smooth things out. I'm trying to be a bit more accurate and safe. Thanks in advance for any advice you can share!

How do we buy a re-weigh with the app?

I have a hitch that tells me my tongue weight. Its 1500 pounds.

Im going this weekend.

Here is what I want to do

1. Truck by itself

2. Dropping the camper on the scale and weighing

3. Truck and trailer on a regular hitch, also with a scale built in

4. Truck and camper with weight distribution hitch

Is this a good way to do it?

Can you use the cat scale for seeing how much your car weighs also?

Not a good idea to use. Cat scales. There basically made for 18 wheelers and not rvs. The problem is your weighing the entire axle. You have different weights on rvs because of Slide outs . The weights will be different from each side of rv . You need to know what psi you need because the left axle may be more weight than the left or reverse. You need to go to a rv escape club smart weigh station . So they can weigh each side of axle. Its more expensive but well worth it. So I don’t recommend using cat scales . Remember rvs and big trucks are totally different . Weight distribution is so much different.
