Quantum Entanglement Directly Seen on a Large Scale For The First Time

Quantum entanglement is one of the weirdest phenomena in quantum mechanics. It is so strange that even Albert Einstein did not believe in it. He called it spooky action at a distance. As we go from the quantum realm to the classical realm, the strangeness of the quantum world fades away. Classical laws replace quantum laws, and phenomena such as quantum entanglement or quantum tunneling cannot be observed.

However, two teams of physicists have now observed quantum entanglement on a macroscopic scale. They crafted two aluminium drums of a red blood cell size, each containing over a trillion atoms. The drums were vibrated using microwaves. The experiment was so meticulously set up that there was no way for the drums to contact each other mechanically. The extent of the drums’ entanglement can be measured by looking at their amplitudes, their maximum distances from their resting positions, as they wobble up and down by roughly the height of a single proton. This was the first experiment.

In the second experiment, researchers used their own quantum drum system to challenge the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. First of all, they hit their quantum drum continuously with photons and tuned them into an entangled state. Then, they treated the entangled drums as a single, combined drum. Instead of measuring each individual drum’s position and momentum, they measured the imaginary drum’s position without affecting its velocity.

Both the experiments have hinted at our closeness to the quantum world.

Wow, thanks for explaining what entanglement is for 4 mins and talking nothing about the experiment.

Note: The example of gloves included in the video is NOT quantum entanglement or spooky action at a distance. This example was included to give an idea to the viewer about the correlation between the two objects. It is a rough idea and has nothing to do with quantum mechanics.

And I go away from this video having learnt nothing from that explanation of the experiment

My question is how were the microwaves projected onto the drum surface, and did they use a splitter or were the two systems in proximity? Did they use a vacuum chamber or was this open air? you left a lot out of the video that could substantiate your claim; otherwise I call B.S. Reference the Scientific paper.

I wish more explanations for the experiment itself and the results were in the video.

There is no evidence that information is sent between entangled particles. Indeed, if the measurements are space-like separated, it is not even possible to say which particle sent the information, and which received it. Quantum mechanics tells us how the measurements will be related. That's all. How the the universe achieves this is an open question.

Lol, it's not when we measure that suddenly the information is sent instantly to the entangled particle. Quantum Fields are simply entangled all the time as a 'network' of balancing all dynamics at Quantum level. We can merely compute probabilities of states, spins, positions, fields and dynamics.

But How do we entangle two particles and How do we find that two particles are entangled??

I truly believe that observing quantum phenomena on a macroscopic scale is mind blowing for the most important reason --- we are one step closer to connecting General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics! Kudos to those scientists!!

But can you pls explain how and why they are entangled ?? I don't understand🙏

This is by far the best explanation regarding this topic 👍👍

doesnt that just make you wonder if almost everything is entangled considering the big bang began as a single point.

Many thanks for sharing. But one comment: entanglement cannot be used to send information faster than the speed of light: in fact, it cannot be used to send any information at all. This is because the connections are statistical correlations and as such remain random. The exposition was simplified so it didn’t detail this. But thanks for telling us about the experiment. Maybe another video with more details in the future? Cheers!

U didn't tell result of that drum experiment 🙄

And where have they tested these 2 particles?

So what was the result of the experiment of drums?

I am not a Physicist. I am a Designer retiree. Parallel universe to ours would be the negative units (for we are positive) or the "Perfect time" which is "0" (zero). There is a hypothesis that there is a "Mathematics layer" (in pink) inside the parallel universe that is the contrary to our "Mathematics layer" (in green) which causes friction and death as a final consequence. In the case of the "Pink Mathematics layer" would have chances to be the place of paradise (there is no friction or death). The video shown here proves that there is a parallel universe.

This is why they don't want you to put metal in the microwave.

Nice video, but it could have been clearer on the microwaves hitting the drums. Why were they cooled? Was the same microwave signal used to hit both drums? Or was it two differently generated signals each at the location of the two drums? How were the phases of the vibrating heads measured and how fast were they vibrating?
