I've always liked Xiaomi phones, they seemed to offer a great bang for the buck. And any shortfalls can typically be worked around with mods, apps, and custom firmware.
Now they need to make the rest of the phone flush with the camera hump, and fill that extra space with battery.
Also people lay their phones face down so they don't do the same "screen scratching" to their camera lenses. I did that to my LG V20 until I got a case that is thicker than the camera bump.
