I don't see the issue with the design, to me it's still 10 times prettier and cleaner than most new laptops even with those bezels

I've been using the 2019 GTX edition with the GTX1050 Max-Q and I love it, very sturdy and durable good battery life, speakers and screen.
I hope for this generation there will be a GTX version

I have the previous version, managed to undervolt both cpu and gpu to -100mV, overclocked screen to 72Hz, liquid metal, running CPU at 10W instead of 25W so temps are around 10 degrees overs room temperature browsing YT on mozilla. Scored 810 on Cinebench R15 at max wattage.

If it really was meant to be a "Pro" laptop, then I don't really understand why they didn't make those two Type-C ports Thunderbolt 3 enabled.
It would have made it much more usable with a dock. Like multiple 4K screens, USB3, Gigabit ethernet over a single cable. Or an external GPU. I understand that they want to save money on the cheaper models, but this is their top-of-the-line, isn't it? In this price range, there are alternatives with the same spec. that have it and don't cost significantly more.

I think $1089 is almost exactly the price i paid for my mi gaming laptop 2019 with 1660ti. Love that laptop btw, the hard-drive and ram are super fast. 2.6kg + the power brick is the biggest downside though

I've been using the first Mi Notebook Pro model with 8th gen i5 (8250u) + 8gb of ram and 256gb for more than 2 years now, which i got for 720euros back then (quite cheap to compare to the prices nowadays) and to be honest i don't see almost any improvements. Was waiting each year for the newest version so i could upgrade as mine already has some dents on the screen lid, but it seems that the upgrade is not worth yet :( I feel quite dissapointed in xiaomi. No thunderbolt connection, no 4k screen. If they would make one with the same design + 4k screen and thunderbolt port i would definitely grab it.

I'm still using my last gen model randomly blue screened this morning and said couldn't find storage, rebooted and seemed OK, but quite bizarre. My main issue though is even after the bios update that helped a bit the fans still ramp up for no reason every now and then which is annoying. I also wish they would have put the fingerprint in the power button and made the trackpad buttons not so recessed. The display though as well, its sadly average. Nice that they upgraded it but really disappointing that its still 1080p, should be 2K at least given its size. I also agree that it is quite bulky and why no thunderbolt 3 ports. Just seems like xiaomi arent taking their pro laptops as seriously as they could be.

I recommended this to a friend, he bought it straight away. The only things I would change is the battery to 99WH and the Screen to 1440p. I would also allow it to charge at 30W. Everything else is fine, if not perfect then tolerable.

I have a mi notebook air 2018, the hinge suddenly got loose after a few months, went in and found out the screws holding the hinge came loose. I just tighten them up and it fixed the problem.
