Good idea to do these shorts. Ancient Rome and Greece are absolutely fascinating to me. I spent hours in Florence looking at all the ancient pieces there. I can’t wait to visit Rome itself. I think I’ve been to almost every other large city in Italy.

Roman Scout:"Sir vercingetorix is in Alesia and well dug in"
Caesar:"Build a wall"
Roman Scout:"Sir reinforcements for vercingetorix is on the way and much larger than us"
Caesar:"Build an another wall"

In WWII General Patton always brought along with him Caesar's Gallic War, every now and then wondering "what would Caesar have done here?" Like Caesar Patton crossed the Rhine where it was so wide that the Germans never expected it and never knew until he had crossed with his army.

When setting out to make Rome great dig two ditches one in front of you to protect you from your enemies and one behind you to protect you from your “allies”.

He built two bridges over the Rhine, crossed his army, then withdrew, removing the bridges. The Germans knew they must comply.

This sounds more advanced than forming a line and firing muskets in turns.

What were the paintings you used in the background of this video? The ones shown when you were talking about searching for hidden passages/river crossings look really beautiful.

As a descendant of Old Greek family, he name one of his kids Ptolemeos cezarion 15th who happens to be also the last king of Egypt, who also happens to have a kid named Alexander 14th, if im not wrong....

There was a battle between Caesar and I think Pompeii where they literally fought each other by trying to build walls to surround the other army.... They did this for weeks and built literally kilometers of walls between them....

I wanna know what breed of horse that Julius rode.

It must've been the strongest horse to ever live to be able to carry the massive fkn balls that Julius had.

Can you tell us more about Caesars' lifetime? I learned some information about him already. However, you're a really good youtuber with reliable information. So I was wondering if you would take the time and make a video. Thank you for the information! Keep up the amazing work 💪

They’d also probably like throw some stuff at each other have some duels
_now we have groug centurion-eater vs warus herous!_
And throw some insults, and I imagine some kind of dance battle

Was he? I've heard that by the period standards he was VERY proactive and almost always take the initiative, for example he would engage in battle as soon as he can (if strategically viable). One example of this is beginning of the Africa campaign in the civil war, that almost cost him the war. But I think it was the way of roman warfare that depended heavily on having the terrain advantage for the optimal use of their heavy infantry.

Id say it was his choice of subirdinates and allies

Labienus
Mark antony
Brutus (despite the backstabbing, he was a good commander)
Octavian
His alliance with pompey and crassus

He even tried recruiting cicero.

Caeser knew who was best for the job and chose well

Didn't he sneak his entire army around the enemy during the night to encircle and crush during the day
