I lost the key to my 2004 Silverado last night. Looked up a vid to pull the ignition(I had tools) so I could screwdriver start and go home. Seems you hafta have the KEY to pull out the tumbler. Brilliant. That renewed my motivation to find the key, and I did, two hours later between the seats….

Older ford's are easy, no need to take the column apart, there's a pin you push in with a pick next to the ignition switch, turn the ignition switch push the pin in the cylinder comes right out

Or as a locksmith most of the time if you reread and make a factory key fix’s the problem half the cost and time. The keys brass wears down after time so tumblers aren’t sitting where they need to anymore.

Only works if you can rotate the tumbler. Only this easy if you can rotate the lock cyclinder. Not exactly a "tip". This is how you do the replacement.

quick tip, just throw transmission in gear so the starter won't engage. don't touch the crappy side post battery if you don't have to.

my key is a 91 dodge with almost 400k on it no issues. they just don't make them like. they used to.
