This video shows you how to install an ignition lock cylinder on your 2006-2013 Chevrolet Impala. The ignition lock cylinder provides security by requiring a key to start your vehicle. If there are problems with the lock cylinder, you'll have trouble starting the engine!

This repair was done on a 2009 Chevrolet Impala LT 3.5L Sedan 4-Door FWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

Simple, very helpful... didn't solve the problem for my car. Two days ago I had a key made. Programed it in the parking lot.went well. Still had to hit the button to release the key. Bought a new key cylinder today. Keys wouldn't Program, key still got stuck. So I put the old one back in.

I managed to replace my ignition and program the keys to start the car but the new keys will not unlock the doors when I insert the keys in the lock. Any tips to reprogram new keys for the new ignition to the door locks? Thank you

My issue is that my cylinder will not turn back to the office position. It will only turn to acc/on and crank/start. I don't know what the problem is. Any advice.

People!, make sure the ignition lock cylinder replacement is chipped, otherwise changing this part will not be beneficial.
