Hank had the most amazingly wholesome reaction by teaching people about his cancer and going into hank green mode and it was incredible. I can imagine the amount of people who were able to relate to him and he warmed so many hearts

Honestly, at this point, most of the time I watch his videos I completely forget that he had cancer. His remission has truly been a blessing both for his health and for his desired self-image.

I think it was John who said only Hank would respond to cancer by teaching ppl about cancer. And it is such a Hank thing. But another beautiful thing that came of it is SO many ppl came forward saying he helped them in some way with cancer in their life. It's a scary thing, and information and understanding I firmly believe are the first steps to making that fear manageable.

I have watched him for many years and I was diagnosed with the same kind of cancer (I think slightly higher stage) 2 weeks before Hank announced his to the world. It was so comforting to see someone else going through what I was going through and it really made me feel not so alone. So thanks Hank even if it did make you the cancer guy for a bit you've helped me so much on my own journey and Im sure many others aswell.

I'm not updated on the Green brothers as I used to be in 2015, thought the title and thumbnail of the full video had something to do with him being confused with his brother John since he famously wrote a romance book about teens with cancer, had no idea Hank got cancer😭 I'm glad he's ok now

honestly, hank to me will always be the cool science guy. i of course followed his videos of things he chose to share about his experience with cancer, but honestly when i see hank on my timeline i still just think 'there's hank! he's gonna tell me some cool science fact". and then he does, and i go about my day knowing one more thing than i did before

I've never been my genetic condition. Hank's candor about his cancer definitely made me feel more comfortable talking about it and admitting my limitations, though, and I deeply appreciate it.
